  1. In the midst of bringing a boat back from Adelaide to Sydney. All the plotting and tracks have been done on the iPad,....though I and up to around $75 in subscription. That includes entering several very small harbours, and 3 hours of night running and entering a very tight harbour, Cape Jaffa, with only 2.5m depth. The Simrad on board is unfortunately not reading the c-map card Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. But where's the fun?? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. We can supply C tek Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. C teks are good chargers......we can supply, plus several others, back on deck, unfortunately tomorrow Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Yep, fished with both of you........Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. With equal compression like that on each cylinder, I wouldn't be concerned about having to go to deep, and their diagnosis of a gasket is probably correct, and as said $150 in parts should cover that. It's not that hard a job, particularly if your father in law has offered to help and is mechanical. With the age of that outboard, take a trip to your local library, it's quite likely they may have a service manual for it. If so, borrow it, photocopy the required pages, as it doesn't matter then if you get oil etc on them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Same to all, and here's trusting your new location becomes your Eden Steve. Now, my first task of the year, get my boat up from Adelaide Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. All ramps will be chaotic Also need to check the RMS site for the timings when the channels are closed And realise you will be trying to get into crowded locations in the dark Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Why would you be at the ramp at 9pm? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I think if you go to a good trailer shop, you can actually buy the stub axle already mounted on a plate ready to clamp onto the trailer as per Fab's photo's. If you don't have a welder etc, it's a lot easier, and they are not expensive. We can possibly get them, were closed until the 4th, I can check then Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Lilli Pilli sandbar is a beautiful spot Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I agree, I agree... You will have seen my mantra here, time and time again. Replace every 12 months, don't inspect, don't clean, just replace its the cheapest job in the maintenance of your boat you can do. Oh and the gloves, just took me back to my army days, we had a plant operator, that always wore them whenever greasing his machine....nickname...blisters......cos they figured if he ever got his hands dirty he would have blisters Hence my chuckle Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Fab, that's really well put together....I only have one comment, gloves!! Wtf.....wusss Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Merry Christmas to all, I wish you all health and happiness. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Don't think I will get that luxury....but may have to buy a few more high speeds.......intend to run at 10Kn's most of the way Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I'm planning to run the new rig up from Adelaide after the 10 Jan, Gerry, be interesting to see if you find anything on the way.....1000Nm of water so fingers crossed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Gary, when I was youngster, we used to live in shoebox in middle of hall, had to lick hall clean Witt our toungues Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Ok, The impellor if you do yourself, $30-50, add a hour or two of Labour at 100-150 per hour. The gelcoat repair I will leave to others Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks, great read, and looks like it was far more consistent, than the 6 days we spent in Panama in May Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. When you go around, great idea to have a parent or some one close with you. Not to walk in with you, but to be waiting outside for you........The numbers game of cold calling, is very tough, and it is really good if there is someone you can chat with, to raise your positiveness back up. After each meeting/interview, look at the positives, and take that into the next one Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. As a business owner Will. I take several very good points out of your post 1) you have written with clarity, which shows strong communication skills 2) you are motivated 3) you know the direction you want to take. Put together a brief letter of introduction, with what you are looking to do. Your skills and any experience, this can include your fishing experience as it is relevant to what you are applying for. This must not be anymore than one page. Then take yourself around every tackle store around you that is within travelling distance for you to work at. Dress neatly, present yourself and leave a copy of your introduction letter. Expect a number of No's.....importantly understand this is not a NO against you, it is not personally directed at you or your character etc. it is a NO, they do not have a position available. Realise it is a numbers game. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Check what amp the winch is, I fitted the small 50amp Anderson plugs which 10mm2 or 16mm2 cable will fit and suit the winch. We can supply plugs and cables Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Another thought when wiring, that I did with my last trailer boat, I wired a long cable to the boat batteries, had it sitting at the front and just ran it out to the winch when I needed it, made it a lot easier, when towing with someone else's car or swapping vehicles etc Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Hi unfortunately don't do labour (qualified yes, but shop only) as others have said Shadows Trailers, Sean is great, we have dealt together, but he is in Bathurst and its close to Christmas, he does travel down, so would be worth a phone call./message..........yarraone If it was mine and I wasn't doing it myself, and I couldnt get hold of Sean, then I would check with a mechanic workshop, and I would be pricing, replace Wheel Bearings.....NOT, clean, inspect and repair, Bearings are under $20 per set to buy, just replace them yearly. Then as everyone has said, inspect tyres, suspension, lights etc. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
