Missin’fishin’
Used to fish all the time, just getting back into it. Struggling to get on to some legal fish. Using 1-3kg rod., 8lb line, sinker swivel and 1/0 long shank usually. Fishing only off land. Using Hawkesbury prawn, tried fresh mullet and bottle squid. Only thing I catch stuff on is the prawns tried Swansea, found the water too quick. Wangi - great water, nice and deep, no fish. Stockton break wall. -Got two keeper flat head there that’s it happy for any hints and tips, locations or anything else cheers. need to find a spot, and any rigging info. thanks
Mutch22
Mate keep persisting with freshly caught and live baits and your catches will increase just keep on persisting some days you might catch zilch. Try fishing the same spot a couple of times with different methods maybe even lures and see what is most effective and what works!
Berleyguts
And keep a record of the time of day, stage of the tide, weather conditions etc. Try and fish the tide changes around first light/sunrise and sunset/last light. For places like Swansea channel where the tide can really race, try and pack light and fish mobile so you can walk along with the current. Choose the right weight sinker so you can just bounce a bait along/just above the bottom. Change sinkers as needed to suit the run. Try live poddy mullet. Try casting and retrieving soft plastics. Try a soft plastic instead of a sinker as your bottom weight with a bait above on a dropper, or 2 different baits on 2 droppers, and just let that bounce along. Fish one hour either side of the tide changes when the run will be slower. Lots of things to try. Keep persisting and you will get there!
