Sydney DPI Reefs

Just wondering if any members care to share their experiences of fishing on the DPI artificial reefs off Cronulla, Sydney Heads and  around Botany Bay. Personally I haven't fished them (other than for slimies off Sydney Heads). I would be interested to hear how others have found them for kings, reds etc and the techniques that are best used when fishing them (such as anchoring off them and berleying, drifting over and throwing plastics, jigging etc). Have they had the impact on catches that we had hoped for?

Personally I'd just do a forum search for starters.

There are plenty of old FAD threads to get info from!

Only fished the one off Sydney and only for bait but have seen some king fish caught there on micro jigs and bait. But the reef is small so can be a bit of a traffic jam at times.

I have heard nothing about the Hacking reef but am thinking of having a look at it later this week.  Ron

The Sydney one is a great bait ground at times and does hold some kings as well. Gets too crowded for me in the mornings.

Tried the hacking one a few months back with no luck. Was bait holding around it on the sounder but nothing wanted to hit our livies. Guessing they will continue to improve with age though.
