Mainly as a distraction to the impacted lives we're all leading at present, I put forward some "photos" of the area where I live. May provide a beneficial distraction from what has become our "norm". Maybe others may join in? bnIMG_0750-4000.thumb.jpg.117be795914400166a247ac26dae38bf.jpgIMG_0754-4000.thumb.jpg.40304a7a7d86dbf17c4b598f64e188d2.jpgIMG_0756-4000.thumb.jpg.0bae7cf501fc2585162236a2411cc8c6.jpgIMG_0757-4000.thumb.jpg.ff23f069d3e9f15a7725b266e05d2a2f.jpgIMG_3027rs.thumb.jpg.2bebd18f3eeb4ee68c33be054b3ac22e.jpg729983789_P1010809(1)rs.jpg.57b0e1f23b0e2195be0752760025b27c.jpgP1010811rs.jpg.d1662fcaab8afbadab50534af4ebd889.jpgP1010817rs.jpg.54e6306854778f772b8e0b29701fc52e.jpgIMG_3313rs.thumb.jpg.cf8d5b4e2ce9a19e4c95f223bc6d46fe.jpgIMG_3312rs.thumb.jpg.efbacf8af41e4d316a18583d0e56ac09.jpgIMG_3266-4000.thumb.jpg.ede8ff169dc86bdcb88b551e101f250d.jpgIMG_3277-4000.thumb.jpg.809a4f05116903bdf31e13197b489916.jpg916258216_IMG_3374(1)-4000.thumb.jpg.cd209056df4ee4ac9f0007534fecf929.jpg

With all that is going on at the moment looking out the window tonight just can't help but make me feel like we are just a miniscule spec in the big picture of the billions of years since creation.

We are not here for long to experience what life has to offer, even shorter when you add up lockdowns!

Still a beautiful sight none the less.

Great photo KC. It totally sums up the point which you make... we all think of our own significance, relative to the lives we lead, yet we are but grains of sand (on a beach) in the "BIG PICTURE". Life is good, even though it may be difficult sometimes.

Great thread!

Edit: not sure what happened there, I had about another 10 photos I tried to upload!

Max image size total per post is 9.77mb as written at the bottom when you make your reply to the thread.

Nice pics by the way

What a fabulous photo Rebel. If a picture paints a thousand words, this one writes novels. Having been in a bush fire I can FEEL the power of the elements in your photograph. Brilliant, thanks for sharing it. bn

Excellent?? Typical English background - understating again. :mfr_lol:I think those photos from @thatdan1000 are superb.

That photo from @Rebelof the bush fire blew me away too. I can almost feel the heat shimmering off the photo.

I suppose the adjective "SUPERB" trumps excellent so we'll go with that descriptor for now. It's great to see photos that stimulate genuine feelings in the audience. Good thread. Neil

Thanks, Neil, It's much appreciated! I love trying to capture the beauty of some of the places I'm lucky enough to visit in my travels, and it's great to be able to share the images with some like minded legends!

That fire was so close. The wind changed and it jumped the river and headed north.

I was up all night, with the hose putting out embers.

Some neighbours left thinking it was all over and they were going to lose their homes.

Cheers.

Wildlife - found this young tawny frogmouth hanging around with its parent outside my dad's place. It was curious when I was in the area but didn't appear agitated and it was still sitting there after it was nice enough to let me take these photos. Check out the eyelids in the second photo. Please note that these were taken with a telephoto lens to minimise disturbance to these lovely birds.
