First weekend of the bass season

We’re stuck out of reach of the harbour care of our LGA so we’ve had to adapt to skinny water.  
 

We took off to Eastern Creek (4.8km from home) to throw some grubs and hardies.  Good bite window mid morning saw our first one for the season - actually first one ever.  
 

Super fun, the dog enjoyed it too.

Nice bass, for future reference I'd avoid holding bass like that, the gill plate and rakers on bass are razor sharp and will slice you

Thanks for sharing Hugh & congratulations on your first Bass.

If you have some surface lures give them a crack first thing in the morning or evening for an addictive adrenalin hit.

Well done on your first Bass young fella. I got my first one, courtesy of tuition from dirvin21, earlier this year. They are great fun and I would commend you to try surface fishing in low light times if you want to have a real buzz. bn
