Larkin Posted January 25, 2023 Share Posted January 25, 2023 Gday Raiders, Rode out to South Sydney Fad this morning. About half a dozen boats out there - saw 4-5 dolly’s being caught over a few hours - still not heaps around yet, too many rat kings on the fads which steal your bait. Largest Dolly I saw being caught was around 70-75cm, on live bait. I caught a 55cm on a trolled skirt, and a 61cm on an unweighted salted slimie mackerel strip bait. Caught a heap of rat kings - 30cm-50cm - very annoying - one after the other. Headed back in and hit the flathead drift. It was very fast and fish were small. Normally wouldn’t keep the small ones, but it was hard going and that’s all there was. Blue spots in size from 35cm - 42cm. Was one of those days that I had to work hard to get the fish. ramp parking was almost full at 5.30 this morning - No way I’d be going tomorrow. Hi Rob, Water temp was perfect for a swim! 23 degrees in close and 24.5 out wide I had been trolling along the cliffs and came around Jibbon between 2-3pm so could have been me.
