  1. Didnt think the tyrnos 10-15kg had a roller tip? Another alternative, if it does is the backbone elite 10-15 OH , they come in both roller tip and non roller tip
  2. Weekly reminder that Adventure Bound is on tonight - 8pm on channel 31 Rob
  3. Have heard good things about the water snake series, work well and dont hurt the pocket too badly. I have a motorguide electric on my boat, only used it once but it was easy to use and works well. It has a wireless foot pedel , no wires getting in the way, if your super lazy i think you can get a keyring control
  4. Makes me laugh eveytime i see that
  5. Yep, i prefer to mix bread with water into a nice mush , then chuck it in. Its a killer for yakkas and trevs, kingies , bonnito ,frigates salmon and other fun things with fins all want in though
  6. What a shame , at least it didnt happen with an even bigger one! Leson learnt ay, i think i might invest in a gaff
  7. Hey stylo, the block pillies can vary depending on brand from what ive seen, some are OK most just turn to mush though...good berly though I have found IQF pillies much better quality and they dont fall apart like the block ones do. " I dont think i have used a sinker fishing landbased for about 2 years now, i catch most if not all my fish floating my pillies down a berly trail, works wonders
  8. That makes alot of sense roberta, great idea actually, i think changing the whole spool to mono would be easier though Dan - unless im using it for lures, it does IMO
  9. I have the same setup with 15lb platil, couldnt go wrong!
  10. Hey guys thanks for the tips The line is not layed flat on the spool , in a shallow m pattern if that makes sense? avoiding the very top and bottom of the spool. After all the tangles i have had to remove about 2 or 3mm of line , and am still getting the tangles..? Although in the past with other reels , removing the top little bit of line has heleped dramatically. Bobfish - just checked, the roller turns with ease and smoothley Roberta - that loose loop can be a killer! , happens quite often when im using light lures or baits. Im thinking the reel may not be braid friendly OR a bad batch of line..
  11. Hopefully hit the harbour for some squid , salmon and/or winter kingys
  12. Hey guys, had this reel for a while but only used it a few times. It is spooled up with 10lb platil braid. Regardless what is on the end (metal , plastic , squid jig etc) it always tangles up, im talking almost every second cast. I have used this brand of braid many times, never had a problem, the quality is fine, the line was also spooled up on a spooling machine at the tackle shop. So is it the reel acting up? What are your thoughts. Rob
  13. Nice report mate, sounds like a perfect winters fishing day! Also good to see the sambos finally show there faces on the surface & feeding on real baitfish rather than those bloody 'eyes'
  14. Nice one guys Can i ask what area you were fishing i.e north harbour?
  15. Hey guys, these rapala rods seem pretty nice, they look good in the pictures to. Hows the pricing on them?
  16. Never bottom bashed like that before but by the sounds of the extreme weights and pressures involved i think its probly worth buying a reef queen or similar, if the downrigger gets wrecked, its only gonna cost you more to fix..
  17. Mate your braining them!!! Well done...again!
  18. Nice report southerly , trevally pull hard on handlines thats for sure! I also agree about it being a poor JD season, havnt even seen one yet,ive normally see quite a few by now. (catching them is another issue )

  20. Thats a ripper mate, very nice
  21. Bugga, ill put the reminder up earlier next time. Although it was a repeat, part 1 of the 2 part jervis bay king special. New series starts next week
