  2. ehehe ceph its not always balmoral Thanks guys:)
  3. Hmmm, i have decided to scrap the idea of a heavy landbased outfit as i will be spending more time on the boat this year. I have narrowed my reel preferances down to 3 choices Daiwa Sol - 2500 or 3000 shimano twinpower - 2500 daiwa caldia kix - 2500 These 3 are similarly priced and have good reputations from what i have heard. Does anyone have any pros or cons for any of these 3. This reel will be to replace my current symetre 2500 which i absolutley flogged over summer, will be using it for everything from bream to kings to frigates. Also , i saw an ad in a recent fishing mag for daiwa sol rods, are they availible anywhere and if so how much $$ am i looking at here? Thanks Rob

  6. Thats the best paint job on a boat ive seen! Mean looking machine for sure!, dont think you would have any seal troubles in that thing
  7. Well we were going to go out on the boat yesterday morning , but dad pulled out because of the suprising amount of rain!. Decided to go landbased anyway as i was up at 3.30am and didnt wanna sleep Went to balmoral with my mate and started flicking plastics around. A few casts in and i feel a weight and then nothing , i bring it in and there is a nice V cut into the body of the plastic. did any one say squid? Tied on a squid jig , first cast , got him , nice southern. Then we saw a few boils on the surface , i thought they were sambos, and they were. Few casts around the place and a nice fat 55cm sambo is landed. After that the weather just got worse , more rain , more wind and less fish so we left. Id take that over sleeping anyday

  20. very true jewgaffer , just wondering if you have any of the new spinfishers , was put off them when they moved production out of the US. Dan - it will be used for livebaiting and heavier baitfishing. I have another outfit for lures
  21. Yes..yes i do Jewgaffer - i havnt thought of the banax range. Im a bit of a shimano person ,cant resist a big shiny reel
  22. Ah yeah , there up, just dont have the money at the moment. Im thinking in paring it up with a T-curve king mack 10-15kg
  23. Nice rigs!!, 2nd one is my fav!
  24. Well, last season i got blasted away more times than i can remember fishing landbased around the harbour. Using my symetre 4000/snapper raider and a few times on my BR 4500 . This season im looking to upgrade a little in stregnth. I have my eye on the daiwa capricorn 4500j , or the shimano spheros 12000 or even a 14000. These reels seem to have alot more stopping power and matched with a decent rod could provide alot of pull. id Ideally go a salgita, but at this stage its just to exspensive. So what do u guys think?
