  1. Perhaps even search that area....that is, if you havn't browsed it already.
  2. Mate move your post to kayak crew area......might get a few more responses
  3. Berleyguts........what were the dramas have you had with the 60 ETEC? What year model is it? Obviously a 4stroke yeah?
  4. Understood man. Most of my fishing is estuaries and rivers, ive never done outside the heads anywhere ive fished so my 50 2stroke is perfect. So did you get prices? Im curious to know, pm me if necessary
  5. Well you must love your extended family more than me mate hahaha. Something larger to accomoadte them a few times a year to me isnt worth the expense. And if they are anything like my family and/or mates, when i bought mine everyone said I'll come out with you......i have one regular fishing mate, only 1 member of my 40 person extended family has come out once, and most of my mates have never come out....thats in 10 years! Personally, I don't see why you're thay concerned about the pfd rule, no different to putting a seatbelt on is it.
  6. Yeah looked at that exact boat and the sniper a lot recently.....Either would be even more perfect than my current setup, and I love my current setup. I just don't think I could ever get rid of my current hahaha. Spending the extra for length vs wearing a jacket solo or at nights.......Well man, that's entirely up to you. I have never had a problem with my Pfd, nor have any of my mates when we are required to wear them. We don't even notice they are on. My main reason to go from my current 4.5 Brooker side console to a Anglapro bandit/sniper 4.8 has been entirely based upon layout and extra space. Well the layout is more or less the same, except the transom area. My Brooker does not have the pod style transom to mount the outboard, so I can't really have a bait board mounted above or in front the outboard. I just keep using my livebait bucket sat in front of my outboard and the lid of that as my bait board. This setup I use, I have become used to after 10 years, it's not really a hassle, I am more nitpicking.....but the Angla would be perfect with the bait board. Maybe, if I had the Angla, I would see the bait board getting in the way a little when I lure fish. I usually baitfish solo at night, so I have plenty of room. Even still, if I take a mate or my father, we still have room and any of us have never seen space inside my boat to be an issue......a bigger boat would have extra space as a perk. Lastly, I would have to remove some benching from the rear of my garage to accommodate a 4.8 on a trailer. Again not a hassle, but I would lose work bench space. I havnt priced them (sniper or bandit), can I ask if you have....what is the difference between the 4.5 and 4.8. And what outboard size have you priced them with if you have?
  7. Might be out of your budget, I use a G Loomis NRX 842s MR with a 4000 stella FE. I can easily do 8 hours chucking transoms or vibelicious for mulloway. It's even lighter if I use my 2500 16 Certate. I can highly recommend this rod and it would stop most things that swim either in estuaries or offshore when luring.
  8. Plenty in the Wilson Live Fibre range to choose from mate. I started (2010) with a couple of standard Live Fibre's (6-8kg and 10-15kg) for my mulloway fishing and they are great rods. Less than $300. I upgraded to a pair of Wilson Texaliums last year in the 8-15kg range and they are even better, but more expensive. Ugly Stick gold's or platinum's are also nice rods, they would only set you back about $150 per rod.
  9. I just figured more estuary guys would use it. There you go, I've learnt something today. If you've got a screentshot of gamefish on sidescan, I am curious to see how they show up
  10. Most brands and series are decent enough these days, id be researching more about transducers if your deep and offshore
  11. If your fishing Brown's, can I ask why you would want side scan for?
  12. This is good advice. I gotta decent spot that is 3-4m depending on high or low tide.
  13. Try again where you caught them mate. Wise man once said, "Why leave fish to find fish?"
  14. Just try all the known spots man, you dont need exact gps marks. Did you have gps marks when you caught them previously??? Even try the spots you used to get them. You setups will be fine also.
  15. I posted a question about this topic just now in "the bar". I'll ask here too......are my outboard's earmuffs a "purpose designed flushing device"? I messaged Sydney Water this evening, hopefully they can clarify this tomorrow and respond to my question

  17. Quick question after checking out Sydney Water's website and the policy on level 2 water restrictions. Would my outboard's earmuffs be deemed as a "purpose designed flushing device"? I have messaged Sydney Water this evening, hopefully they will respond tomorrow. Curious what you fellas think. Take the time to check out boat cleaning restrictions at home and at the ramp also fellas. Mick

    Bow aspect

    Weight distribution perhaps?
  19. In my experience I dont worry about top or bottom tide. More dependent on when I have time to fish really. Sure I do prefer some of my spots on top or bottom, but having said that, I've caught them throughout all stages, whether top or bottom or mid tide at my various spots.
  20. I pin a head up the the bottom jaw and out through the nose (between the eyes) directly above, if that makes sense
  21. Hahaha yeah I guess it would almost be the same......a head does have more of a tapered profile however. If I ever strip bait I always try to make it a bit trianguler and pin the hook in the pointy end
  22. Some sound advice for mastering mulloway.....perfect info to include in s mulloway diary
  23. Since your not a fan of Windang, yes the current does flow fast at times here, your only a stones throw away from the Georges River mate.
  24. Which area in western Sydney mate?
  25. So it wouldnt be very often you use the leccy motor and your lights unless you do after hours plastics sessions. Normal batteries are fine and will run the leccy, however, they are not completely designed to be discharged and charged over and over and over. The result will be a dead battery quicker. 100% for the deep cycle to run your electric motor only......I would never use anything other than a minimum 100ah for an electric motor. A decent battery charger to keep it charged and maintained also. I use a Ctek. Perhaps a smaller "normal" battery for your other electronics/electrics charging off your running pull start outboard. My Ctek also charges and maintains my standard battery.
