  1. Thanks slothparade, I use waders when prawning and have a belt around my waist if I fall over I will not fill up with too much. Never thought of wetsuit pants for winter.
  2. Does anyone wear waders whilst paddling or what do you wear? thanks norm
  3. Thanks for the reply, I now remember they were the teeny terror, I think they were suggested for Redfin that's why I got them.
  4. thanks make sense they say don't take women on a boat, redheads also my wife comes fishing with me and is a redhead. That's I don't get many fish.
  5. Does anyone know the name of this lure and can you still buy it, I think they came in different colours
  6. Got to ask what is the banana in the photo for? thanks, norm
  7. There is another Hawkesbury person as well. I have an 18 ft half cabin and have about 4 rods for different species so I don't think it should be different in a kayak only the space is what I was thinking of.
  8. What are people using as their waterproof box for the battery that is used for the sounder. I will be using an alarm battery. thanks norm
  9. Wondering why fishing in a kayak they have about 3 or more rods, is it so they don't have to rig up in the kayak? Last week on holidays at The Entrance a chap in the caravan park had 4 rods. thanks, norm
  10. I spent 7 yrs with 1 Commando paddling 2 man klepper canoes load with gear so quite use to hard paddling. Not interesed in a motor I also have 2 sea kayaks. The wife and I worked out how the foot pedals work. Thanks for the reply.
  11. Thanks, Chris 55 I saw that video it is mainly the foot pedals and cords to the rudder.
  12. Just bought a Seak Ma. ko 3.9 need to set the rudder up. I have two Australis Sea Kayaks and the rudders were set up on a different system. Is there any info on YouTube on how to do this, I have just started into this type of fishing, I have an 18 ft half cabin boat. I will be using the kayak for The Entrance, Carcoar Dam, Wallis Lake and Oberon Dam as it will be better than shoreline fishing. Thanks Norm
  13. Please bring back the Hairtail social which was great. The problem is people without a boat; however, a group could hire a houseboat maybe. Just a thought.
  14. You had a good time better than computer games. I was told by a fisho at The Entrance with this piece of information Flathead high to low Whiting Low to high also I wade across the flats and fish the ribbon weed and drop off for Flathead. I use lures for whiting and flathead a Sugar Pen I have found to good; I stay in the caravan park for about 2 weeks so I can go anytime I like as I am retired, it is great that you got help from other fishos.
  15. Fishing from my boat in Smith Creek - Cowan Creek, the boys have rods 6ft they enjoy catching leatherjackets..
  16. I think it was a fixed float at a certain depth.
  17. Taking the Grandkids out for days fishing in Smith Creek, I have spot that I catch leatherjackets. I use a rig with a float so that they can see the bite and for the life of me I cannot remember how I rigged it. I also use a pasternoster rig with no8 or 10 long shank hooks with small pieces of squid soaked in aniseed and garlic. I am getting too old to remember, this one of the best fish to target for the grandkids as they catch them and want to stay fishing.
  18. My brother-in-law and I just fish the spot and cast in various direction till we hit the spot.
  19. Just sitting here reading a book on fishing spots and they refer to 4 boat lengths out. Now think about this I am fishing in a 10ft tinny, so I am 40 ft from the shore. now my boat is 18ft, so I am 72ft from the shore. What do you think.
  20. Great video just be careful climbing over the rocks there are Red Belly blacks and Death Adders in amongst all that debris, I use to rock climb in the Blue Mountains and seen plenty Death Adder in the rocks. Just a hint when walking with your rod carry it with rod pointing backwards and you won't snag and break the tip
  21. Not interested in an anchor winch thanks, I have solved the problem as Rebel said his Crest Cutter had half the chain size.
