    dollies

Which FAD? They were free jumping near whale FAD yesterday, got a few for a feed but not that big well done.
  2. Damn that LJ shot is awesome! The dollies spat up a few of the smaller ones. Are they normally in this close?
  3. Hi all Finally caught some legal dollies today. What the beat way to cook the fillets? Should i leave the skin on? Cheers Paul
  4. Hey mate Had to get back and let you know this report inspired me to chase dollies again today. I decodes to leave the longy carpark and picked up two legals between whale and the fad. Been getting rats all season and chuffed with my first legals! They were free jumping everywhere but had to leave as the wind picked up. My mate reckons they jump like that when marlin are chasing them?! Had four lures out and they hit the same one everytime. Great fun on 10lb gear. Cheers Paul
  5. Thanks. You have been pretty consistent with the dollies this season. I caught my first of many this year but all under so far. Amazing looking fish, But yet to taste one!
  6. Wow those pics are just awesome! How wide were you and what temp if you dont mind?
  7. Hey Brian, well done thats a sold king. What depth do you fish at oldans hat? Never had much luck there. Cheers Paul
  8. Sounds like you need more pitch to reduce WOT.
  9. Size 8 hooks are tiny, i assume you mean 8/0?
  10. PS i looked at the HDS 7 gen 2 also but i couldnt go past the functionality of the push knob dial. I spend all day zooming in an out of mapa and would hate to do it on a touch screen. Also for the price it comes with nothing not even a bloody transducer! Garmin echomaps 70 was my second choice if it helps.
  11. No structure scan sorry but not really needed for my fishing. I guess its a nice to have but i have full confidence without it.
  12. Ok thanks mate, its at 5500 WOT so something must be right. Is it normal for the prop to be within 1/8 inch from the top plate? Cant even get a finger in there. As for the Jonno yes it has not missed a beat since you did the pump diaphragm.
  13. My boat has always been a guzzler for its size and weight. Jonno 70 has 14 x 17 prop, after lots of reading it should really have a 13 x 17 or 13 x 19 in ss. Will one inch diameter really affect fuel consumption that much? Sorry to hijack OP
  14. Thats a big hairy and surprise location too, they have to be the most random species. I admire you getting out so frequently with your children.
  15. Its a massive upgrade, no pics but will get some next weekend if i find the fish! It was lit up with kings at the arty last time.
  16. I can absolutely positively recommend the Simrad NSS7. It Has transformed my fishing and is infinitely better than my old HDS5. Got mine in a bundle with maps and transducer etc for 1100 which is rediculous for the quality. The functionality of a touch screen and push knob dial is unbeatable when bouncing around of sure. Everyone who uses it comments how easy and quick it is to use and image quality and clarity is awesome. It will mark a single slimey clearly with no clutter. Best money i have spent on my boat, ever. If you need any info let me know. Cheers Paul
  17. Straight out from watsons bay or the nudie beach ha
  18. Nice job, all the effort has paid off. You are now addicted if you werent before! I know you have some alright on the jews, which did you enjoy more? Can of worms opened.....
  19. Any structure will hold kings at certain times, markers, buoys, moorings would be a good start.
  20. Gulp nemesis are deadly. I have a symetre 4000 on a 4-7kg sahara rod for this purpose that works well.
  21. Cool, those two methods have found the fish all season for us.
  22. Thats for bait though? Not lures i assume?
