  1. Bloody hell that top ender is a good buy
  2. So true! I caught my first king on a jig last week, 15kg rod finally came up tight and was almost under the boat with the load. Called it for a hoody and turned out to be a rat at 55cm WTF. They go harder the harder you fight and all pull hard, gotta be one of the best sportfish.
  3. Nice, any legal? Plenty around at the moment, did you hit the artificial reef?
  4. Rhymes with brown digger?
  5. Mmm some kind of shop that sells......
  6. LOL 'best day fishing ever' too funny!
  7. This is true, i only go to Rosie if i have a decky i wont launch there solo. Drymmoyne is superb for solo launch, love that ramp. Have to say i have seen more launch/retrieve fails in Rose bay than anywhere else, all the gear and no idea!
  8. Around 12-15km to Sydney head. Depends where your fishing really. I used to fish west o te bridge and i sode the harbour. Now im heading out it doesnt make sense. Nothing better than pulling in the heads and straight to rose bay, i dont miss crossing the harbour in the arvo.
  9. I used to think the same thing, i live at concord and used to launch at concord then drummoyne and now rose bay. The fuel i save on my jonno 70 is massive.
  10. Hasnt this ramp just been completely rebuilt?
  11. Nice feed there. I have had little luck bottom bashing out wide. Do you have a spot x or do you just head out to 60m and drift like most? Ive had far greater success in 30m Cheers Paul
  12. Have to say i would be much more inclined to use mine if it was electric, especially on the solo missions. Gets a bit frantic trying to organise bomb, rod and steering going solo in a swell. This may or may not be how i hooked up the FAD
  13. No idea sorry, i use the slide mount its very simple, solid and clips right out. Caught my bomb on the FAD once and the cable snapped before the mount broke! I mounted it on a piece of nylon cutting board at the rear of the gunwhale and have some left if you need it. Cheers Paul
  14. Love my scotty 1050, gets used weekly and bargain when bought online. Electric would be awesome if its in budget.
  15. Awesome catch mate, i think we can all relate to the effort put into getting THAT trophy fish. Great job to pull a hoody out of the rats too, you must have done something right. Cheers Paul
  16. Was over 12 months ago, have never gone back to it. I still use the 14lb stuff for flatties though and no problem. Yet to break 6lb FC rock, even on those Parra river bream.
  17. Always used to break at the double uni for me, same for my mates too. No such issue with the FC rock.
  18. I find vanish is only good in the higher breaking strain 14lb + the smaller stuff breaks so easy at the knot. For 2, 4, 6lb i have had great success with FC rock.
  19. Its to the right of the pier looking from waterside, about 100m down the boardwalk in front of the park. They do great bacon and egg rolls too.... At watsons bay prices mind you. The middle harbour coffee is bright gold in vittoria coffee colour scheme you cant miss him.
  20. Hey mate I can catch the kings but not the squid needed for the hoodies. Im sure we can help each other out. Shoot me a PM sometime im out most weekends in the harbour. Cheers Paul
  21. Atleast its not a timing belt...
  22. Yup what he said, i personally couldnt justify the extra spend over a stradic. Is the sustain lighter than the CI4 stradic?
  23. Well done a great story of perseverance, if you put in the time the fish will come. A far cry from flicking plastics at Narrabeen lake.
  24. Symetre and trion a match made in heaven! I have the 2500 and 4000 combo.
