  1. Yep.. definitely a better Salmon spot in the cooler months , and also produces some cracker tailor as well during winter
  2. Great area Witha , you can catch almost anything there.
  3. Lol.. never tried them Paikea.. but when ever we catch them along with some of our tailer we give them to my freinds dad who loves smoking them, personaly im not a fan of smoked food.
  4. What beach Nat ? Without sounding condescending are you good at reading a beach and finding the gutters and channels etc, as this has a major bearing on whether you will catch Jew. Also the tailor you catch arent overly big use the whole fish live as bait or else have a crack at catching beach worms as they are a killer bait for jew but u will need a few. If you are into smoked fish that is one way people do salmon , but im sure others will have plenty of options. Keep trying and the illusive mulloway will happen. Good luck
  5. Im surprised to see people in huge expensive cruisers also failing to adhere to this basic rule.
  6. Im not familiar with these boats but do they have an anchor well ? I have seen the drain pipe on them not secured to the skin fitting properly and the water from the well and wash from outside the boat has leaked into the hull. May not be applicable to your type of boat but may help others chasing leaks.

Beats being at work Kikila .
  8. Give the front an back a good spray of wd/innox spray to protect it and insure it lasts longer.
  9. When NSW fisheries developed successful aqua culture techniques to breed jewfish nearly 20 years ago why are we in this position where we are concerned about a decline in the species. Why are we stocking dams and rivers etc with imported fish such as trout and not doing the same with mulloway ? Its a joke to be paying a license for bugger all return. You can have all the bag limits under the sun but as long pros still fish and amateurs rarely get checked it will not make any difference at all
  10. Ok thanks sb, so would it be fair to say you try to replicate the same style of tackle , bait and water conditions as u would do in ocean water snapper fishing ? Ive never really given it a thought to target them in the harbour so your report has certainly opened my eyes to another avenue of fishing for specific species. Have you ever fished places like sow and pigs for them . Thanks
  11. I realise you arent targeting bream , Im just curious how in that area of the harbour you could avoid them . Im not trying to be a smart A by the way more interested in the method you use to be able to target them so accurately .
  12. Hey SB are u getting bream as well while targeting the snapper ?

  14. Lol. Sorry Fab didnt mean to copy your advice. . I was still writing as u posted up.
  15. You can use an electric buff with fine cutting compound first then a polishing compound but if the paints thin you may cut through in places..so go easy . The safest but hardest way if the paints reasonably good is just a good hand polish and hit it with a wax type polish to coat it once its done.
  16. Went out for a fish last friday as the international fleet was coming in , didnt catch much but got some good photo's Sent from my GT-I9305T using Tapatalk 2
  17. And a sika tip.. I put mine in the freezer when im not using it , stops it hardening in the cartridge as quickly.
  18. Cool.. sounds like a plan Huey
  19. I guess I just have the same starting issues as the OP with the 90hp and rather then start a new thread for each question it sort of got continued on here.lol I understand what u are saying about a leak down test but I was just chasing a basic result which would show if there were any major anomalies .
  20. I did it cold Dunc.. ive always been under the impression that a cold and dry compression test is more accurate in determining the actual condition of the engine. I will how ever do it warm and check the results in which id imagine would be a higher reading.
