what an excellent report! I love how these beautiful fish goes up river to bays like Iron cove. It just makes your day because fishing landbase from a really quiet bay with a big fish at the end of your line just pumps you with full of adrenaline even more than on the usual rocky boat.

Hey i was fishing in perth at canning bridge and my uncle told me that the puffer fish is a pest that eats up all the food and leaving other species starving because they are overpopulating in the area in perth. He said it was illegal to put it back in, but i was not sure if thats true or not. But when i went there there was heaps of puffer fish and it was so annoying, and anglers just catches it and leaves it on the side walk or all around the fishing place wen they couldve disposed it in the nearby bins.

one time this big family took over the whole wharf at clifton, and everybody else didnt catch any fish except for them. They had like 2 rods each, using big beach rods, big sinkers heavy lines using big bait. And then one of the guys thought he was pro because his uncle caught a kingfish so came to mess around with my drag on my rod for no reason i told him to give it back and then he goes "you dont put any drag on, this will let the fish run and you'll know when they take ur bait" while unwinding my drag wen it was set perfectly. I walked away and said 'thanks' .... i dont like people touching my stuff or tell me what to do when they think they are so pro. You can almost always tell if a fisherman is pro by their gear.

wat a hectic session there! Man that trevally looks really healthy and decent, now you usually dont find trevs that far up the cooks cause it gets really dirty. Its just like finding trevs at HC, does that seriously mean that the water is getting better ? or they just feel like going up stream? Again what a great catch there. Awesome report

So you want to be a law abiding citizen? So you will obey Every law? Ok even if you have to obey the law, I will still rant about this whole system. Im sure theres alot of people that doesnt agree with these new rules and im not JUST talking about the zero tolerance on speeding rule. Focus on the mobile phone part flightmanager, whats your take on that? So if 49% of the population disagrees to a certain aspect of the law, the 49% of the population will STILL have to obey the law? That is democracy. And living the law to a handful of people is very dangerous.

hey guys, yeh im just saying that alot of these new laws are not efficient in dealing with other issues. I was just thinking about the zero tolerance for speeding thing. Imagine you have a full time job, and u're on u're Red P's, you lose your license due to using mobile phone or something. Your work place is someone far away, away from public transport. What are you gonna do when you have the world's worst trains system? How can people even rely on their government? By the way, it is the RIGHT to drive, by taking away your license basically means denying your right to travel. Which is a god given righT! And to the mobile phone thing is ridiculous, i totally agree with you IFISHSTICK, It clearly said u're not even allowed to use loudspeaker or handsfree. The invention of a handsfree device was used for drivers who wanted to talk and drive at the same time without distracting their hand coordination. Having kids is more of a distraction than a loudspeaker, especially when you have two kids fighting at the back >_< Clearly, this bill was passed without even thorough review and consideration. This was quickly passed due to the mainstream media propaganda on teenage driving, and its the minority of the P-platers that does this. Basically this new law is labelling EVERY P-platers as potential criminals, what happened to "innocent until proven guilty" ? Its not like every P-platers are those hoodlums you see on TODAY TONIGHT or ACA. ALSO THAT BASICALLY MEANS IF YOU GET CAUGHT ON RED LIGHT CAMERA YOU'LL LOSE UR LICENSE STRAIGHT AWAY. And judging from a camera's point of view even if u're over 1km/hr the speed limit you'll still lose ur license. THINK about all those OLDER CARS which doesnt have CRUISE CONTROL and the speedometer is not calibrated properly and doesnt represent the right speed? Zero tolerance is bull****

hey guys did anyone of you guys get a brochure talking about the new license conditions for restricted license holders? im so pissed off about the new rules. Zero tolerance for speeding: That means if the police wants to, they can take away ur license even if u're over by 1km/h. eg 61km/hr in a 60 zone. I feel sorry for the people that doesnt have cruise control. So basically you lose the RIGHT to drive (dont be fooled by them its not a privillege, its a right). A ban on all mobile phone use: This one they dont let you use any functions on ur fone, not even loudspeaker or handsfree, if that is so they might aswell ban all ipods, and BAN talking to passengers inside the car. Clearly this rule cannot be enforced properly if everyone is using loudspeaker. So if you're caught doing this you will ALSO LOSE the RIGHT TO DRIVE. Passenger restrictions for P1 drivers: Ok it says if u're under 25 u cannot drive more than one passenger under the age of 21 between 11pm and 5am. All these rules sounds so good and convincing but theres a flaw to this one. If you have everyone that is under the age of 25 to be driving by themselves wif a friend or wateva that just means the other 3 friends that was suppose to be in that car will just take another car out! THAT MEANS MORE DANGEROUS DRIVERS ON THE BLOODY ROAD! IF any of you guys live on geogre st or been there on a saturday night at 12am you would know that there is hundreds of full packed cars full of thugs and mostly P-platers. Imagine all of them multiplying by a couple of times because of this new restriction because they cant carry more than one passenger!!!!!!! (another side issue would be its between 5am, which means you cant go early morning fishing with your mates until 5am onwards!) Another stupid rule about this is, imagine u're going to a party, you're suppose to pick up ur friends, wen the party finishes, you can only take one friend home and the rest has to either walk home or catch the train in the middle of the night. OR THEY CAN ALL take another car to drive to the party. When you think about this isn't this adding more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere causing MORE greenhouse effect?!!?!?!? And the government says they want to help.... liars! When you look at other countries such as vietnam they all drive motorbikes, each carrying one passenger. So soon we all have a car but releasing more greenhouse emissions as much as motorbikes. Thus speeding up the greenhouse effect. Any P-platers that also agrees wif me and angry about this PLEASE REPLY!

hey justin, the outfit im using is shimano fx 2500 4lb fireline, 6lb mono trace combined with a $15 telescopic rod which only has 3 guides meaning it cant handle much so it was like fighting a big fish on a toy rod. yeh about the eating fishes at HC. Despite wat tests has shown, i realised that trevs is started to appear in HC, probably meaning it is getting cleaner as you usually dont find them upstream, this is the 2nd time i caught a trev here. So yeh looks clean enough to me, i dont eat from there often anyways. Eating fish from HC is better than smoking a cigarette which i dont do lol so i guess its good enough for me.

Weather: Clear Temperature:22 degrees Wind: 12-18 knots westerly winds Time: 10-1pm, High tide 10am, caught fish on the run out Got there went straight to the wharf, i wanted to try out bread and squids and yakkas but doesnt seem to work there or maybe just no fish. Tried a couple of plastics around got a few hits but nothing major. So decided to move to the bottom part of HC. It looked fine as i was expecting flatties but no takers on my 2" bass minnow bloodworm or pumpkin seed. So used the prawns i got at the tackle shop and landed one 15cm whiting released back in. Saw my 2 rods bend and i think it was a double hook up but i was too busy concentrating on fighting something that pulled really hard. So i was fighting something average as i thought at first kept winding, i thought maybe flattie since it didnt fight, then wen it got close to shore it started peeling lines and ran for wall but i guided it back to me. So a big flash of white, i thought it was flounder as it is wide. Then it actually a 38cm trevally. It looked so huge to me because the last time i caught a trev here it was much smaller. So yeh luckily i landed one fish and i was really happy. Gonna go again tomoro Some pics of the action.
