  5. Hello fellow Raiders. I have been given a C-Map card for the Eastern Seaboard and was wondering if I can get the data transferred onto a Navionics card to fit my Lowrance HDS7. Any ideas out there among the gurus? Framedtrash, you there ??? Cheers, Tuffy.
  6. Alfa Rosa, your issues are not just yours alone. I had exactly the same problem when I upgraded my motor to a Honda 50 EFI from a Honda 40 carby. The same slippage was occuring. From the pics I don't think the height of your engine is wrong. i think the real cause of your problem is the Yammie prop and this is the same prob I had with the Honda standard issue generic prop. The shape of the blade is the real cause of the problem. I eventually solved mine with a stainless Solas prop which has a more rounded end on the blade and therefore more "cutting" or bite area on the blade. If you ring Solas props in Brissy you will find them extremely helpful. I have also fitted an SE Sport 300 Hydrofoil, although I believe the Permatrim is also quite good. I would stay away from other hydrofoil brands as most of them just don't work on mid sized engines. My cav plate by the way sits about level with the bottom of the boat. Have tried it 1 hole higher but it made the cavitation worse. Welcome to call me if you want and I will run through the entire process with you. It took me about 4 mths!! Regards, Russ. 0402 110 666
  7. Trung, power feed to the gauges comes from the main loom coming from the engine. I have exactly the same setup with BF50 and you are welcome to come and look if you wish. Cheers, Russ.

    Removing seats

Mako2000, there are plenty of tinnies that only have 2 seats in them and they are usually quite strong enough. Your is only 12 or 13 ft long so I would imagine that the distance between the front and back seats is probably only about 2 meters at the most.I don't think you will have a problem removing the middle seat. A boat of that size wouldn't have enough stresses put on it to warrant any problems, not unlesss you're fitting a 100hp motor !! Tuffy
  10. Love the Marcel Marceau comment - very funny. That's the kind of noise I like when fishing as well. Tuffy
  11. All of the home handyman shows I've been listening to on the radio are saying that bleach will not kil mould, only whiten it. They are recommending white vinegar to kill off the mould spores. i'd give that a go if I were you. Cheers, Tuffy.
  12. Nice choice Yarraone, and a good colour as well. I work for a Ford dealer so I know how much they are on the driveaway pricing at the mo. Very good value. Tuffy

Sell the Daewoo and tell your missus that horses are meant to be ridden - not towed ! John Wayne never towed his horse. Tuffy
  14. Is it a " through-hull" transducer? Coming out of a Riv it probably is, in which case it's a bit of mucking around but not impossible. I am willing to help - just pm me or call 0402 110 666. Days off are my only probs. Russ.
  15. And, I believe, definately NOT good eating !! Tuffy
  16. That's it !!!! I've just discovered a way to retire early. I'm going to spend my next weekend off inventing a battery operated portable " Dioxin Meter ". I reckon at around $19.95 each I'll sell one to every fisho in Sydney, so that will nett me, say, $19.95 x 50,000, just under $1m, then I start work on instilling fear into places like Broome, Tweed Heads, Cape York etc. Yep, that's it, start work this weekend and in 2 years I'll be sending postcards from the Maldives or St Kits. This could go global, people. Better start emailing me before I become too famous. Tuffy.
  17. Purchase aluminium rivets with ally head AND ally shaft - available at Toolfix ( I think) at West Ryde/Ermington, Hope St). Available in a vast range of sizes and not expensive. Tuffy

    Electric Reels

This is an urban myth - simply not true. Tuffy
  19. Hi Stephanie, you just mentioned another issue, and that is the one re your tackle. I would assume that you are not carting loads of fishing gear on your trips from home, so I just wanted to let you know that reasonably good rod/reel combos are sold here through many different retails outlets at relatively inexpensive prices. Good enough at least to get you by for the month. Major retailers like Target, &&*&*&, Big W etc and also the large tackle stores can provide you with reasonably priced equipment and not bust the bank. Just thought I'd let you know. 64 more sleeps, hey? You're gonna love this place. Cheers, Tuffy
  20. Why don't you just ring the distributors, Navico, at Lane Cove. The number is in White Pages and they are very helpful. Save a lot of guessed answers. Tuffy
  21. Congratulations to both Mum and Dad. A wonderful "Finnish" to a 9 month wait !!! Cheers, Russ.
