  1. I think somebody might just be having a little bit of a lend of you here. Tuffy
  2. Find a friendly Nanna and get one knitted. Tuffy
  3. People , believe what you will but the reality is that NOBODY has yet seen a business plan or any modelling whatsoever for this NBN. We can all be sold on the "good things" by the sales experts but until the Govt comes out with REAL costings etc I am still to be convinced of the need of this vs wireless technology, and $42bn is a shit load of money to spend in an industry in which rapid obsolence is traditional. Always remember the age old rule of business - "Failing to plan is planning to fail". And don't get me started on the other wasteful spending this so called "Govt" has made on our behalf! Tuffy
  4. All, my wife has a VE 60th Anniversary purchased Aug 2008, now done 48000kms still on the same 18" tyres - ( not for long)and has never missed a beat. Serviced as per log books and never an issue with this car. Admittedly they have a bitch of a blind spot but hey, nothings perfect. I had FE2 (SV6) springs fitted to the car when we bought it and that just ties the whole thing down nicely. Would definately recommend the VE - I work with Ford so I can make the comparison - and Holdens don't rust!! Not the most economical, about the same as my Pajero actually, but if you want economy buy a Yaris. Go figure. Tuffy
  5. Kurt, I did that to my boat and it wasn't that difficult - see pics. Happy to help you with this at a reasonable price, but will need to look at the boat. Ph me on 0402 110 666 if you want to discuss. Cheers, Tuffy
  6. So the real question is - how much does a complete engine check cost vs how much is a complete engine. When in doubt, check it out!! Tuffy
  7. Well, my lawn needs mowing, but I think my 14 y/o son would be absolutely devastated if I gave the job to someone else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tuffy
  8. What, for $17 per night? Jeeez. That barely covers the Swedish masseuse, Elke.
  9. The Basin is in the Kuringai National Park and camping fees DO apply. Site is manned permanently by resident Ranger. Overnight camping fees with NPWS are only $17 per adult. How much of a tight-arse do you want to be, what, with showers, toilets and free barbecue facilities provided?? Tuffy
  10. AAhh, yes Big_G, that would be correct. However, with some active lobbying maybe we could get a wharf built there at the same time. Not my favourite option, though, as it would impact on my Ticket Machine takings, thereby reducing family income and sliding me into the "impoverished hardship" category.Although that may qualify me for a "marine fuel subsidy" which I believe is coming in next years budget. We'll see. Tuffy. PS. The business is for sale if anyone is interested!!!

    Oh, I see. Thanks,
  12. Hear hear, well said Whaler.
  13. Jot, that's getting a bit too far up the river to be keeping anything you catch. It's pretty much opposite the old Union Carbide site at Homebush - fish have 3 eyes up there. Tuffy
  14. There are some absolutely ridiculous and inane replies to this topic. What the hell does it matter what toys we have - is it harmful - NO - is it dangerous to the marine life - NO - is it a bit of fun - YES - so what's the problem with you people calling for bans etc - wake up to yourselves and grow up. Fishing is supposed to be fun - get over it and stop being jealous you lot of baggers. It's good of Predator to share his pics and experiences with us, and that's precisely what this forum is about. Tuffy.
  15. What ratio, Whaler? 200 - 1? Tuffy

    New Rig

Guys, need some advice. Recently purchased a new Pfleuger Supreme XT 4000 reel, only 'cause it was on sale. Now realize that it won't work properly unless I attach it to a rod. Thinking of a marriage with a Shimano Raider Mexican Fire Snapper 7'3".Spooled up with probably 6 - 10 lb braid. What are the Raiders thoughts on this?
  18. I reckon that's a pretty good job,Thylacene. Shows initiative and ingenuity. Be proud. Tuffy
  19. Danny, Grippy Rubber at Silverwater. Take a piece of your old rubber down and hopefully they will match it. Best selection I've ever seen, and they manufacture themselves. Nice lady to deal with as well. Cheers, Tuffy.
  20. I'm in charge of the ticket machine at South Head. As per usual entry rules, the first 2 hours are free, then it's flat rate $20 per hour - paid to me in cash - no cards, please. PS.No pensioner or student discounts apply. Cheers, Tuffy Trump.
  21. Afraid I can't help you Bassboy, but I sure do like your attitude. Keep it up and the world will be yours mate. Should be more young blokes thinking like this. Russ.
  22. Anyway, now that they're dead, I might as well make the best use out of them. If anyone can please pm me with a recipe to cook them I'd be most grateful.mate, the best way to cook is as follows: Place the whole fish on a bed of thinly sliced lemon in alfoil(stops the fish sticking to the foil). Make up a marinade of garlic, fresh chilli, sliced schallots, teaspoon of crushed ginger and about 1/4 cup of Soy Sauce with about 2 tablespoons of Keecap Manus or HoySin sauce. Spoon marinade over the fish and seal the alfoil.Place on medium barbecue for about 20 - 25 mins - then bring over to my place with a cold six-pack. Cheers, Tuffy

Not saying Geoff, you know gentlemen don't talk !! Tuffy.
  24. Correct. Place rubber thong on a piece of timber. Remove the shaft from the yabby pump.Place pump on thong and rotate while applying strong downward pressure. Result, a perfectly fitting replacement washer for your pump. Cost, about 8 bucks for the thongs from BigW and you will be able to get about 8 - 10 washers out of a pair. Net cost per pump upgrade about $1, and you get to do it yourself. Tuffy ( aka Macgyver)
