Does anyone have any tales of the history of the lake illawarra boat shed? I use to fish from the park behind the house land based.Fishing platform there now.I hired a rickety old wooden boat there in the early 90s from memory.That weed bed in front is gone to. perhaps @Yowie or @noelm could fill me in on its history?

At least you live local.I’m an hour and a half away roughly.The paper mill,Broughton creek,drifting along the islands like pig island,Numbaa islands have produced fish for me over the last 30yrs or so (I use to fish there every weekend about 20yrs ago) drifting around. We did alright on flathead,bream,whiting and by catch of flounder at times. We are by no means gun fishos but usually would catch a few decent fish back then. I was there about 3 yrs ago and didn’t do too well. Good luck in gods country.

I walked over to the pool this morning and said to myself I really need to catch Yowies fish.I went to the north side,looked in the water and said…I need to get the boat out.Went back to the south side and said….bloody Yowie. Time poor, reside far away from water, that’s all they know, and convenience are all reasons mate. These days time poor, convenience and distance would be the biggest factor me thinks.It is for us anyway .As for yabby pumps I have had one for 30 yrs or so and I think I’ve used it 3-5 times. Give me a nipper any day if I had the choice. ps.We are a far cry from serious anglers or even boaters to be honest hence why it doesn’t really matter what bait we use.

Why are you using them to begin with?Guide posts would be my choice. I had a idiot at ramp when we first got my boat knock my boat off trailer causing a big gouge in hull when it scraped along the edge of trailer roller bracket. I since put trailer guide posts on and my boat won’t move sideways as soon as the keel touches the rear roller.

That’s why I swim in my pool.I can see the bottom.😂😂

😂😂😂I’d get rid of the shorts as that rip will catch on anything and everything now.My boat is in the garage and has metal rod holders that I’ve nearly self loaded myself into the mrs front load washing machine many times climbing in/out getting caught on it. Last time I got caught on it I head butted the shelf the drier sits on. You’d think I’d pull out the R clip that holds that one on and remove the holder but I’m not that smart otherwise I’d be the prime minister of the country if I were.

I’ll be there soon to catch every fish at about 1pm in the morning when I wake up don’t worry.Lying in bed is what I do best. At least they’ve left you 2 fish mate.Well done.

I did first aid and refreshers several times over the last 20+yrs or so.I have never needed it or used it touch wood and to be honest I can’t remember a thing I learnt.I forget things easily.

I have a 2003 Hilux that drinks like a Samoan at a pub,has manual everything,vinyl floors,will shatter your spine over bumps and will survive a nuclear bomb I reckon.160k on clock now.I thought about new anything Ute and I simply cannot justify it and am attached to mine that’s never giving us dramas other than the norm.Brakes,oil changes,etc which I’ve done since day dot costing peanuts. My neighbour had a Ute the same as yours and I can tell you know you’re in the same boat as the new ones are not anything like yours.Personally I’d keep yours as all new cars,utes are 💩 now if you take time out to smell the roses and really look at them/ prices have gone significantly ^^^^^^ and quality vvvvvvv big time.

Hopefully you learnt your lesson.All the utes ain’t what they use to be including Toyota in my opinion.I think I’ll hold onto mine for the next few decades me thinks.

You forgot to follow rule #1and #2. Rule #1 Never buy Nuts & Bolts from Bunnings or ask the morons working there anything as in my experience going there for the last few decades my 10yr old nephew knows more than those incompetent clowns. Rule# 2 always go to a good Fastener supplier for all your fastener needs as they have thousands of different types and more often than not at a fraction of the price than the rubbish sold at the green shed and much better quality.The more you buy the cheaper it is in bulk. One last question to you @noelm….By tapping out the threads and drilling out I would of thought you’d compromise the galvanising exposing bare metal? Great work thus far on trailer mate.
