I think its like all sports, it's the consistency at the end of the day that counts.

My Welsh mate around the road who I have a throw with and maybe have a Beer, he will throw a few 180's when he's throwing against me but I've seen him in a comp game not getting one.

Or you can throw some great darts to get down to a finish but end up on Double one .... I'm an expert at that. Bahhhaaaa.

We all cant be a MVG.

Exactly mate.Hitting doubles consistently Is key.Any one that plays darts would know just how consistent and accurate Phil Taylor was  to win all those Tournaments.

It's a great way to help kids with maths.

Looks like you shouldturn pro

Very few people are good enough to turn pro.I'm far from being pro.I can throw some fantastic darts at times and some terrible ones too.😂😂😂Yes 180 is top score. Here you go.

    Excellent, I don't mind a game myself.

Thats after a 27 year layoff, geez that's good.

Never got a triple 16 but have score a triple Bull................ but that's about it. 😄

Yeah, after that long.As you know it's very hard to get a triple bull as the bulls bed is very small. The doubles are alot easier due to being bigger.I've had a few of both over the years but the planet's need to be aligned for it to happen.

Great feeling when it happens.Don't worry I've thrown many 180's then the very next throw thrown a 7,3,15,11 etc feeling like kicking myself.

Finally managed to get back out on the water. Tried the deep water around Lilli Pilli but only baby snappers around.

Gave up and threw some soft plastics around the flats for a couple of decent flathead - both were carrying eggs which I'm always slightly sad to see. Even though our meagre catch is unlikely to dent the future population too much and we did turn them into a very decent beer battered fish and chips dinner for the family.

There were so many f***ing jet skis around. One of them belted past me, whilst drifting miles from the channel and cut through my line. Asshats the lot of them. I guess it'll be this bad till school goes back?

This time of year there's dills every where on the Port.Worse time.Night time is the go or wait for them all to go back to work/school.

  6. One thing i don't think anyone knows about me is in my early teens to late teens I use to be very good at Darts and Snooker.

Anyway today we played darts with the family and we would call out numbers to hit.

Mind you I just took darts back up after 27 yr layoff about 2 months ago and with practice in the shed as often as i can I mustered this today.

Some one called out bull one time and double sixteen another.

I left them to ponder these.😂🤣🤣

  7. Cheers guys.I hope to get out there and have a crack soon.Someone has to support the economy buying bait to fatten the fish up.You wouldn't want to rely on me for a feed. You'd be one skinny Fisher person.😂😂😂

  8. As the title says I've been off the water high and dry after supporting family fighting the dreaded C.

Hopefully I can get out there to feed all my bait to the fishes like I use to when this weather improves..

Looking forward to reading what everyone's been up to and sneaking up on Yowie to steal his fish.😂😂

    Hi All,

New to fishing here, I recently moved to Sydney from Auckland. Here I went to the store and got size 2 hooks, running sinkers, frozen prawn and pilchards. I cut the pilchards to 3 and was also taught how to half hitch the bait.

To my surprise, even with every parameter changed, the same thing that used to happen before happens here as well: I cast, I make sure the line is taught, nothing happens, I check it 5 minutes later and the bait is gone. Not even entirely sure what happens to the bait.

Meanwhile the guy next to me keeps reeling in fish left and right! I asked him for advice, but he didn't know what I was doing wrong. He also used frozen bait.

I also tried cotton before and it didn't help.

Lost and frustrated, though it must have happened to others before I couldn't find too much information on it... tips will be much appreciated.

    Idan

I'm far from an expert but i cut pilchard in half diagonally and pin the hook once in the tail section with 2 half hitches or twice through the eye on the head section pining the hook in it once too.Or cube them into roughly 1cm cubes pined once under the spine.

Casting too hard, crabs, weed, loose line, strong currents, etc can all strip soft baits like pilly's.

Salt or brine your pilly's to toughen them up a bit helps.

Now if you want to know how to feed all your bait to the fish and go home empty handed I'm an expert.😂😂😂

    Good luck out there mate.

  10. I tow my tinny 550kg as per weighbridge loaded to fish with a 1.8L  4cyl auto car.

My trips are over an hour each way sometimes 2hrs going up and down steep hills like Mount Ousley.

Car does it easy and have never had ramp issues hauling out.Mines auto and I pull it out in second gear.

Drive accordingly allowing plenty of stopping distance, use gearing to slow down, stay out of overdrive and use chocks behind your rear wheels at the ramp or have someone in the car applying the brakes when launching and retrieving.

If manual leave it in first on ramp with handbrake applied, motor off. If auto in park, handbrake on motor running.

      Good luck.

Fab,  bad idea to use sugar soap on Al-that will actually corrode aluminium as will any alkali and sugar soap is a fairly strong one -back to the OP-what he's seeing is simply  bit of Aluminium oxide formation from "water staining" , it is absolutely nothing to worry about-and as soon as he removes it back to bare Al it will simply re=oxidise anyway-Al is actually one of the most reactive metals in its pure form and the only reason we can use it is because it forms the oxide on the outside-anodizing is the industrial process used.

I better stop using it then.I've been washing the outside only with it and rinsing with fresh water.Boat still looks pretty much new.Cheers.

Hi guys, i have an aluminium boat (Stabicraft) thats is almost 2 years old. Ive noticed what i can only describe as salt "stains" on the inside (ill upload a photo when i can) through out the inside - almost like bits of salt spray or small splashes that i likely failed to wipe of along time ago. BTW, my cleaning regime does not involves spray everything inside as i have lots of gear in the various storage areas, in case the question is asked. I instead wipe down the surface areas.

Im wondering how you all deal with this - id like to spend some time to get rid of it before it gets worse. I was thinking maybe sanding and then polishing with aluminum polish, then some sort of thing protecting coating (wipe down with INOX lanolin?)

    cheers!

MY 9 yr old tinny is the same. It's normal for bare ally mate. You'll be 6ft under long before you need to worry.

@Fab1 has an unpainted ally boat that looks shiny new in every photo he has put up ... maybe he can pitch in or you can PM him.

    Cheers Zoran

PS - if you search the forums there are other entries discussing this ...

My boats the same inside mate.(Normal on bare ally).I wash mine out with freshwater inside and sugar soap outside.Hope you're getting some use out of that beast of a boat of yours.👍

8am to 8 pm is 12 hours correct, if there is a 10 limit it means you can't leave it ,there for more than 10 hours, there for can't park trailer without moving it in that time but cars can park there all night and most of the day . Of course you can move the trailer to the first cross street ( from memory that's the legislation ) then move it back to the same spot. That's the idea you have to keep moving it.

How do they know? Neighbors that don't like the trailer there dob you in and lots of other methods they can use, like taking photos etc... It is not very difficult to find out it it hasn't been moved.

If the problem persists and ratepayers still have a problem they can resort to other things like restricting parking to anything other than motor vehicles like some already have.

Fair enough. Sounds like a royal pain doing all that. That would put me off boat ownership for life.Boating/fishing is meant to be easy in my books.

Yeh i get into it a fair bit, gone from bodybuilding style work outs, to now more power lifting/ strength training.

Its been hard lately ,  but i made a set of dumbells with steel pipe, buckets and some quick dry cement, which has helped me continue moving and not losing too much mass.

I started training in 2011 at a mere 57kg, i now hover between 89-95 kg depending on my diet.

That's great going.Imagine what you could do it you were "Natural". I'm kidding mate.Well done!!

Because some boats were parked and never moved new laws came to effect in 2015.

Current regulations in NSW allow you to park on the street. The boat trailer can park there without moving for 28 days . You move once in 28 days then you can park in the same spot again for another 28 days and so on.

Some councils in Sydney impose 10 hr parking 8 am to 8 pm to stop boat trailers park there. Lane cove in some streets. Others have no parking signs " No parking Motor Vehicles Excepted" just to stop trailers, northern beaches have that in some streets.

How do they know if they've been parked without moving for 28 days in residential streets? If you have a roadworthy boat it's impossible to police unless they camp in the gutter for 28 days watching every move.

Move your boat a meter back and forth or drive it around the block and "technically" it has moved.

Same as when  you park somewhere even if your tyre has been marked move your car one spot along, drive to feet and it starts again.

8am-8pm is 12hrs but basically there's no point having a boat in those areas. I know what you meant.
