Well done Yowie .... very nice feed there. Just imagine how much better the day would have been with a few SPs on the hooks ... eh ? 🤣😁🤣 Cheers Zoran
  2. Awesome fish Jeff. Can only dream of landing such a beauty .... but one day, just maybe !!! Cheers Zoran
  3. I have a haines 635 (that used to have a 225) .... and I have always had to dunk my axles and wheel hubs. Whether I drive on or use the cordless drill electric or hand wind .... were you using a steep ramp?? The trailer has been going strong since 2001... I have changed the original brake rotors and hubs just two weeks ago. Still run original springs. Bearings are changed around the 5yr mark - whether they're noisy or not. I run bearing buddies and keep them correctly loaded with grease. Wash the trailer down with lots of fresh water after each salt dunking. Spray the disc rotors, hubs with WD40. Spray the springs with RP7 or similar. Cheers Zoran Original post re cordless electric -
  4. Thanks.... we took the raider spirit so much to heart that we co-wrote the report 😂 cheers Zoran
  5. Thanks @Fab1 much appreciated. Hope you are well. Cheers Zoran
  6. 👍 well done. You’ll have quite a few beer chats over that flattie ! Awesome. .. and +1 on comments re Stewie and Donna. cheers Zoran
  7. Not this time mate. We couldn’t see anything on the sounder so didn’t bother breaking out the knife jigs. cheers Zoran
  8. Dieter must be catching up on work - think he jigged a day judging by the amount of messages he was getting on his phone on the water. Yup we did try live bait - its in the last few min of the video - no takers at 15m, 30m, 80m and bottom. Tried SPs and metal slices as well. No dollies to be seen on this day unlike the Thursday I had a few weeks back with Wayno on board. Cheers Zoran
  9. Thanks Sam ! Maybe we'll finally get that tag team session offshore! Cheers Zoran
  10. Ok everyone, I've changed my mind, when I catch my YFT, I'm inviting @kingie chaser to come share it and teach me to cook it (hopefully he will be on the boat at time of capture too) ! Cheers Zoran
  11. I have a rule .... gotta catch it to cook it ! So will post when I eventually get that YFT that has my name on it. Over to you Adrian ( @kingie chaser) 👨‍🍳 Cheers Zoran PS - BTW ... glass of 🍷 on the side and I'd have no trouble with what you served 😁 !!!!
  12. Actually BAZ hats off mate.... what an awesome way to say it anyway ... by quoting Sam !! 🤣 Cheers Zoran
  13. Top stuff Wazza! I know there’s been a lot going on that has kept you occupied. Glad you are back on the water. cheers Zoran
  14. Champion report from two Champion raiders ! ... so happy for you guys to pull the rabbit out of the hat ! I think just one correction to that post ... don't think its a YF Tuna.... given scratchie caught it, its gotta be a YF Snapper ! Congrats ... the smiles say it all. Cheers Zoran
  15. Cool .... 😎 .... leaves more for me ! Cheers Zoran
  16. Thanks @Yowie. Yup cod are poor man's lobster if cooked right - think we'll crispy fry this one, haven't decided as yet. I swear by SPs on ocean flatties - I make sure to use fully white or mostly white minnow shapes. Curl grub and other shapes have not worked for me. Could be a locality thing... go figure! Where I fish, we have caught quite a few small octopus as by catch, and one of the flatties threw up a white occy leg... so perhaps the long white SP simulates and occy. Anyway, it works on my boat ! Cheers Zoran
  17. Looks the goods... hope the prop is a quick fit and you're out on the briny. Cheers Zoran
  18. Top write up and report. Cheers Zoran
  19. Top day and great write up Dieter ( @61 crusher )THANKS !... really enjoyed the fishing, mateship and our share of the flatties/red spot that we've eaten so far. We definitely got a feed but that big one has still eluded us ... we must try again ! Here's are a few of the pictures from the day and the link to the video. Good start .. the 730am count. We won't say who was in front ! And then the 1015am count: BTW, we used 2 hook paternoster rigs, with a 10cm SP minnow on the top hook, salted pilly or yakka bait on the middle hook and a sinker jig at the end. Most of the flatties, the 2 whiting and the rock cod were caught on the bottom sinker jig. I call the next picture "DIETER-MINATION" The FAD action ......water temp 24C My share of the pickings... Cheers Zoran
  20. Ok chaps, yesterday I had Dieter ( @61 crusher ) with me so we could have easily driven on, but instead I took the chance to test the Boat trailer winch gear reducer - Cordless Drill powered. I also tried to test worst case - bow just kissing first roller and winding full length of trailer. Happy to report the reducer was a success. This is the Haines compared to a Landcruiser - it's taken slightly to the rear so emphasises BARRYCUDA's big ar*e ... but you get a sense of the dimensions from the photo. Thanks Dieter for taking the below video. I used an old Ryobi 2 speed drill (1800rpm and 480rpm) on Hi speed with a fully charged 5ah battery pack - at end of retrieve battery had 3 out of 4 bars. The bearing has worn on this drill and it no longer drills accurate holes so now it's going to live in the boat trailer kit box. Hope this helps someone else with shoulder/arm issues when driving on is not an option. Cheers Zoran
  21. Oh mate... I feel for you. I think we have all been there at some time .... the bent rod and screaming reel ... then that dreaded limp line leaving a long burning memory of what could have been .... Anyway .... that's why its called fishin' not catchin' ... I have found that the only way to get over it is to go out and cast that line in again. Cheers Zoran
  22. Just awesome. Fantastic shots - especially considering you were out there. Photos remind me of that cloud chart that you could buy many years ago ... which gave you an insight into dangerous clouds. Only way I know Rick is to upload to youtube (you need a gmail account) ... and then paste the link in FR. PM me if you want more details. Cheers Zoran
  23. I'll be giving that a go for sure 👍.... thanks so much for sharing ! Cheers Zoran
