Anybody find the yellowfin off Sydney today?

My brother got an 18kg fin and that's it but still plenty of bust ups but no hook ups. -
We should be out doing the same. Fingers crossed we find something.

This boat looks bloody amazing. I saw it at the boat show and was so impressed, it has so many good features but couldn't get over the fishing space. Has anyone had any experience or knowledge on these boats? Do they ride well? Thanks.

I haven't tried for snapper yet because I have been focusing on getting a big tuna without any luck so far. How big was the gummy?

Sydney yellowfin, bluefin, albacore & marlin

We caught one stripe tuna today however the marlin are out there. On the way home today we saw a marlin go absolutely crazy jumping everywhere at about 10k west of browns, awesome sight. -
If they are still catching them in Portland then I reckon they are still away off, I just hope they make an appearance.

Awesome fish there groper. We normally head to the humps for snapper but it's an incentive to me to know they can be caught closer to the hacking.

Hi Butch, great report has usual, well done. Just a question though, I noticed you do a bit of night fishing, how is it when the NE is blowing or do you plan trips for good forecasts. The reason I ask is because normally its windy in the afternoon and if you say it's bearable I wouldn't mind giving it a shot a myself on my boat. Thanks.

That is a great capture Wizza, nothing better than a solid red coming into view on a boat. Can you please tell me what the contour maps are called, I have always wanted to get one but my reasesrcb hasn't produced much? Thanks

Great catch Butch, some nice looking fish. Were you fishing offshore in your boat, if so what was the weather like and what is it like offshore at night? I have been planning a night snapper session and was curious. Thanks.

Nice going Johno, I guess it is all about persistence. The only thing I can suggest in adding to the post is the moon phase, we fished on Monday with what I'm sure was the full moon and compared to other days it was really slow. I have never done real well with a full moon. Also along with your floater I would fish a soft plastic either sitting in the berley trail or floating that back also, this has caught a couple of good fish.

It's a green trophy, I did see a boat in the distance but couldn't make anything out of it.

No Johno we were fishing out of a trophy a couple of km's away. Good luck, there is nothing like a big snapper smashing a floater.

I can agree with Piratin and the suggestion of currents being very important. We fished for a couple of just legal size fish on sunday and the current was dead with the back of the boat was facing in a westerly direction. We then fished Monday and up until 3pm had caught nothing facing west again until the current changed and we were facing " downhill" (North to South), did things change after that. We ended up with 7 snapper to 3.5kg and a big mowie.
