  1. Thanks thommo! It won't be for a while but I'm researching now so when I'm good to go I know what to look for!
  2. Couldn't agree more. It's a big ocean even with experience!
  3. Nope! I'll be out on a boat called "my sanity"
  4. Cheers beno! Well I'm 178cm with a growing waist line... Lol. So that is something I'll look for. The lack of storage is certainly an issue!
  5. Centre cab, hard top and walk around deck!

  7. Nice. Plenty of jew in the system ATM. Your always a chance whilst chasing hairies. What rig did you end up using? Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. G'day raiders, Well, I've finally decided that it's time to get a bigger boat! (Please don't tell scratchie)! After much deliberation and thought about the uses I require a boat for, I've decided on a Formosa tomahawk! I have been on one but I would like to know from experience by other raiders......... Negative and positives??? Faults to look for??? Other options??? (Similar style boat) and why??? Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Well can you guys find them on Sunday and let me know? I'm out on Tuesday! Can't wait, a long drive south first! Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Well , if you say south then I'm heading north! I know your luck!
  11. That looks like a jewsnapper grant! Lol Nice fish mate! Good luck with the comp! Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Best advice I can offer, find the bait and you find the fish! Most fish will tend to congregate around structure even of its a slight rise off the bottom. This time of year I would target snapper on the inshore reefs early morning and late arvo and deeper reefs during the day. Hope that helps! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Good work Luke! Always a bit of fun off the stones! Salmon are a throw back for me too! But interestingly enough, my young fella the other day used strips for bait and landed a nice snapper! I must admit I've never tried it. Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. The color of the braid is irrelevant IMO. Red is the first colour of the spectrum that disappears under water. It's more about matching the right lb braid, with the right lb leader!
  15. Well done mate! The whizzing sound is what most of us fishos get out of bed for. Love that sound! Nice tailor there! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Welcome Justin! I'm local to Port Stephens, so your parents have picked a nice part of the world!!! Here is a thread I wrote that might get you started..... http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=75391&page=3#entry582753 Cheers scratchie!!!
