  1. Hey mate, there are no really charters up here that cater for small groups and target what your looking for. Atm, you've either got the marlin boats working or you can do the bottom bash thing. The other alternative is to hire your own boat and go out for the day. If this is an option to you, I'll give you as many gps marks you want! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Awesome work langers! Good to see you out on the water again with your boys! Noah is a gun angler, are you sure it wasn't you struggling and he came to help you? Lol. Well done boys! Good to see you've still got it in you old boy, you've been quiet of late! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. I would put in at parsley bay. I have done many times, left it overnight or two and never had a problem. Mooney is too accessible by the freeway and invites any type of character there.

  5. Possible Raider record there jim!!!
  6. I'm not sure if they are edible but the color of it is probably a product of its environment. They grow bloody big too!
  7. Great report and great fish JIm. Always nervous moments with a good fish next to the boat trying to land them solo. You did well mate! Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Welcome to Fishraider Greg. There are plent of reports to read about on Jew and hairtail in the hawkesbury on this forum that might just help in your quest. Good luck. Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Nice work boofa! Very similar heads on you and the fish! Lol congrats on your PB mate! Cheers scratchie!!! P.s. I'd be putting that in for COTM
  10. Cheers Paul. And if the photo file is too large, zoom in a little bit and screen shot it. It lessens the meg for the photo!
  11. Great stuff Boof. Good to see you are still getting out there and landing some good fish! What are you using to try and upload the photos? Phone, computer etc?? Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. It's great to have the Tbft onboard with fishraider again this year. A truly professional run tournament for trailer boats, with awesome prizes. So many fishing options and it was great to see so many raiders up here last year and I hope to see many more this year! If you are heading up and need some info feel free to ask and I'll provide any raiders as much info as I can. Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. In the article they stated it would be in "high risk area". This would mean that they would need to place signage at these areas. I hope the ledges from Anna bay to Tomaree aren't littered with signs. However, if it saves lives then it can't be a bad thing! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Cheers mate. I'll look into that option.
  15. G'day raiders, I'm off to the Gold Coast in about 2 weeks and hopefully will have some down time at least for a day to do some fishing. I was wondering wether I should hire a boat and head offshore or take a charter? Anyone had some good experiences up there recently? Locations or recommendations? Please pm charters only. Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Great work mark! I seen demipounce post. Good on you for showing that Fishraider spirit and taking him out! Wahoo wow and a decent one at that. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. You are correct on both accounts. I was out Saturday and Wednesday. Marlin were close in so didn't bother going to far out. Was out carpark two weeks ago and water was an even 25 with no bait. With this 3 day southerly we are having I think the conditions will remain the same for the next couple of weeks. Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Wahoooooooo! I can just imagine your surprise as you got it near the boat ! Wtf?????? Quick, get him get him! Nice fish mate! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. Update: Couldn't help myself today with glass out conditions. Put a late text up to a fellow raider and on short notice he joined me. Caught a few livies, headed north east. Got out on the 40m mark and our livie gets smashed by a shark. Put on another and it got hammered by something as well possibly another Noah but didn't see it. Skip bait for a little while for one bill strike. Headed south trolling lures to cover more ground and found a heap of current lines. Worked the area and just about to call it quits when we see a marlin sunning itself. Tried to entice it but to no avail. A bit disappointing to come home with zeros but for 4hrs it was a nice day on the water! It was great to meet you Andrew. Hope you enjoyed the dolphin tour! Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Welcome to the forum bob! As a newbie so to speak, I would be trying to target flathead, bream or whiting. They are your basic bread and bitter species that are generally productive year round. They can also be very good eating and great fun to catch on light gear. I'm not from Sydney but if you can find any nice sandy/weedy areas with good drop offs, you will find these fish. A decent 2-4kg rod 2500 reel and 6-8lb braid line will get you started. A small sinker to swivel with a 30-40cm trace with a longshank hook. Use either a prawn or pilly and burley up and hopefully you have some luck! If you get nothing in an hour then change spots! Hope that helps. Cheers scratchie!!!
