It seemed to be hard going for a lot of boats. All marlin were caught wide as the inshore water has turned cold. We could really do with a southerly before next weekend! Cheers scratchie!!!

Probably one of the best run trailer boat tournaments you'll see! Currents report, is there are blue marlin wide. The water in close is really cold around 20deg so ATM inshore are your better chance of snapper and kings! There have been a few dollies about but they don't count in the comp! I have often wondered that myself, so let me know how you go! But if you go back to barrington where the camp ground is, you take the road that is opposite it and drive for about 8kms. You'll find a cross bridge and waterhole. Great bass in there and you can kayak all the way back to the camp area. Cheers scratchie!!!

100mm bloody worm wriggler and 1/8 jig head. Also a squidgy fish silver fox 80-100mm. Heaps of current use a 1/4 jig. Next would be a 5inch jerk shad in pilchard.

Darts, lawn bowls etc!

Your boat is plenty to get you to broughton island but offshore boating is about confidence and experience. If you tried trolling the islands out the front of the heads would be a good start. Plenty of snapper and kings about up broughton. Best spots, sisters, north rock and cod rock. Live bait at cabbage tree n/w corner. The bay itself, try the wreck at corlette or steps at fame cove for jew. The breakwall early morning for kings. Flatty at any of the beaches on the eastern side of soldiers in 3-5m water. Look for the drop offs. If you do go to broughton, look for a 1.2m or less swell and 10knots or less wind. In the summer afternoons the nor'easter really kicks in so it will be on your tail on the way home. Hope that helps. Cheers scratchie!!!
