  1. Unfortunately chilledfisho, you did not enter your fish for cotm. Whilst it was a cracking fish, below is a link to the rules for cotm. http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=78075#entry558261 Hopefully next time you can enter your catch and if you have any problems then contact a moderator or admin. Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. With the marks you have on navionics, all you need to do is drop a pin on them and you will no longer need to zoom in or out. That will at least give you a good reference point when you are zoomed out and traveling at speed. Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Every area fishes differently especially for the elusive jew. For my area, the best time on my favorite spot is 2hr before low until low especially if it coincides with a low light period. The other spot I have is best 1hr either side of high tide. Remember, fish are creatures of habit too, so once you crack the code. Try and replicate those conditions and you will be more successful. Hope that helps! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. We have a trailer business as a site sponsor. Although Sean is located out of Sydney, I'm sure he'll be able to assist you.......just click here. http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=77208#entry550334 Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Mate, I'm originally from the area but obviously live far away now. I usually fish the morning with surface walkers like cicadas or Taylor made lures. As the sun rises higher, I switch to crank38 deep and shallow divers. I find anything with an orange or yellow belly seems to work best IMO. In the afternoon I use a similar strategy. If you can get down there just before a storm they absolutely smash em! Hope that helps! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. My guess would be that he's scratched himself on a stick!
  7. Stan, have you tried under the bridge opposite the log cabin. I was there for 1/2 an hour 3-4weeks ago and got 2 around 30cm and dropped 2. I find really early morning and late arvos are the only time to fish the river. What lures are you using? Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Well stop buying bigger boats Ian!
  9. Hot bite is spot on and there is also a bait fad off wreck beach. But keep that one quiet because not many know about it. Shhhhhhh. Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Great stuff Neil. 18 fish on the first day is pretty good going in my books. Now that the much anticipated season is finally open you can start some serious fishing! Look forward to your reports! Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Big rod is correct. Tyre pressure between 16-20psi depending on vechile. Is yours a 4wd or all wheel drive? Big big difference. Those beaches up that way can be very difficult to negotiate the entrances and the beach itself has some steep drop offs. Also be careful of the shore dumps. Besides all that, there can be some great fishing up that way and your also a chance of bagging a few prawns as well. Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. It was great to see you guys up there and thanks for suggesting the place. What a fabulous place to take the family. My lot had a ball and it was nice of Lynn and Geoff to let my kids steal all their ice blocks. Stewy said the fishing was tough going and he wasn't wrong although you guys managed a few beauties. We had a ball swimming and tubing. So much to do and heaps of wildlife. Great weekend! Love the photos Donna! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. I was going to say, the gate at boat harbour Port Stephens is always open! I'd hate to see jet skiers there though!
  14. Every time I even look at my boat it says $100 bills. But I agree, on the downside it limits your opportunities. If your happy with the amount of time you spend out on the water by way of either hiring or going on someone else's boat, then all is good but if not, buy a boat! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Welcome to Fishraider Swiss! There are a lot of kayaks on here including me at times! It's a great way to fish. Hope you find all your looking for on this forum and I look forward to seeing your reports. Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Congrats on your first fishing report. Sounds like a great day on the harbour. As the weather warms up hopefully the fish get bigger! Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. We haven't had any southerlies to stand the current up. The water is very cold in close ATM and the current was roaring last week. The fad has been out for a while now and I've had reports of dollies but only small. Your best bet would be to head to almark, then out a little wider and troll to the car park. There were a few stripes caught there over the last 4 weeks. I'm hoping to get out Sunday if I can. I have a club meeting on Thursday night so I should know more then! Stay tuned! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. I will check it out champ! Haven't had many reports as the weather has been shite! If your looking for a novice decky to scrub the floor, let me know! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. Shhhhhhhh, not so loud Neil, they might hear you coming! Good luck and yes I'll be flogging away to feed the masses! Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Welcome to Fishraider Carl. I hope find everything you need here on this forum. I know what you mean about kids with their heads in the computer. Quality time on the water with them should change that. Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Great stuff pete! It has been a long time between posts. Always great fun getting whiting from the surface. Hope to see another report shortly! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Those are thumping whiting James! Congrats on a really productive session, you've done well. Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. It was all over the news yesterday. It's always really sad to hear especially when these tradgic instances can be avoided.
  24. Not the usual smorgasbord yowie! I agree, the fishing this time of year is pretty ordinary. Lucky it's the start of flatty breeding season which puts them on the chew! Cheers scratchie!!!
