  2. G'day raiders, Just wondering if any of you are in the classic this weekend. I'll be team teaming up with 2 fellow raiders, Oziodin and flatty slayer. Don't know if the other boys are (lol) but I'm happy to share intel for anyone that's interested. Just send me a pm or I'll post back on here if we get a hot bite. Good luck to you all, tight lines. Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Just received my new lures. Thanks a million Gary! Can't wait to get them swimming. Both packs, that's 16 lures different sizes, in pouches and free postage, for $120! They look the goods and a bargain too! Will post up what i catch on them this season! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Good luck to all those raiders in the hawkesbury classic!

  5. It does happen sometimes, however most people are forthcoming with info. Not only that, it's probably in the wrong section. I will move now with a link! Cameldownunder, great to see you build your boating confidence. If its GPS marks you are after try this link. Good luck champ and look forward to read to your report........ http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=70826#entry506882 Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Awesome ben! Nothing like beating you PB and improving you "mountain goat" skills. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. No worries. For the kings you will need fresh squid or live yakkas. but yakkas are hard to come by land based. Squid you can get from dutchies to bagnalls, or at shoal bay. Desperate option, go to the co-op. Cast off the breakwall on a double hook snelled rig, minimum 30lb line 50lb leader and no weight. Don't be afraid of casting inside the wall either. From the marine rescue boat down to the end of the wall. For flatty, I only use sp's but a lightly or unweight pilly on a gang hook slowy rolled over the bottom should do the trick. If you do have sp's, they are great way to get the kids into it and walk the many beaches. A 1/8th 2/0 jighead with 100mm blood worm wriggler or 100mm squidgy silver fox will do the trick. Just get them to cast out as far as they can and slowly wind in. Saves you having to bait hooks and many places you can just stroll. Especially the bay side of soldiers point on high tide in the arvo's. I catch a million there but don't tell anyone! Hope that helps! cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Rami, first of all welcome to fishraider! I think you've found the right place for some advice at the very least. You can always use the search function and type in whatever you want. Reading through a few posts of the area you fish may help also. Good luck! Cheers scratchie mod team
  9. Hi Steve, The breakwall as mentioned is great for the kids and wife. Early morning and late arvo the kings are on. Shoal bay good for squid and flatty. At Corlette you can pump nippers and use them for whiting there on high tide. Wanda headland great for a variety of species. Soldiers jetty near shores good for bream and tailor. Around taylors beach you can walk along and chase flatty and whiting. Off the stones from Anna bay to fingal you can catch anything. Boat harbour is the pick at telegraph point and if you drive past say hi! Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Nice jewy champ! Gotta love a port stephens jewy! Those kings on the breakwall there are touchy buggers. I find down rigging no good. Anchor up and unweighted best. Oh sorry you lost your anchor. Lol. Your mate like told me you were here! Was waiting for a pm! Well done again! Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Thanks mate. Just doing my best. Cheers langers, you must be a busy man. Haven't heard from you in a while. The reds are in the chew atm but finding time to get out there and chase them is the problem. At least I can have a go from the stones near my house. Catch up soon matey!
  12. What a bargain raiders! Just put in an order for my set. Actually one of each. Can't wait for these pelagics to start firing! At least I'll have the gear ready! And free postage, that's very generous Gary. Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. There's so many different fish that we all target but the old humble flatty is IMO the best of them all. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Hey Jim, Most of the time when I've chased them on poppers, the visibility has been very good. A little movement of water helps as well, such as the tide moving in or out. Wow roosterone, 128mm is a huge popper to catch a whiting (it was a huge fish) but I use 38-45mm with a feathered tail. (River2sea) No real secrets, just a matter of keep casting! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Give our site sponsor Craig from "Huey marine" a call. He will be straight up and tell you the pro's and con's of all the boats your considering! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Was thinking its you champ! Welcome to fishraider! At least you get to see what I've been up to! Enjoy the forum!
  17. Thanks guys! And yes son, we just need to find the time! Now get off your phone and do your school work!
  18. Great read mate and I'm glad you got amongst a few. A 45cm whiting is a cracking fish. As the weather warms up, I target those same areas early morning with surface poppers. Good fun catching whiting on poppers. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. I've seen a few in my local supermarket, hope your not "target" ing them!
  20. No worries Ryder, wouldn't want you turning green!!!
  21. I'm not familiar with that area but do you eat fish from there??? Good solid session on the luderick BTW!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. cheers stewy. will taste good on the barbie When you do let me know and we'll tee something up I know. What a shame the mrs had to work. They were on the chew. when they're there, they hit hard. Love that zzzzzzzzz Yep about the same size as when I went with you last time up here. Call you soon mate! I got the time off so will be there Friday!
  23. no, it was only 6am not 6:30! Who's this we have here as a blast from the past???
  24. G'day raiders, Just a quick report from this morning as I only had an hour to fish! This weekend is our shoal bay fishing club comp. After having to work all day yesterday and the arvo weather pretty ordinary, I had no idea when I was going to get the chance to wet a line. So after a brief conversation with the mrs, we decided we'd get up early and go for a fish. We got to our spot at 5:30 to watch the sunrise and cast away! The wife is on first to a "pretty little fish" (wrasse). And I managed another "pretty little fish" (parrot fish). Every cast from then on we were getting baited and then I had a better take and landed a nice little panny at 40cm. Then the next cast with an unweighted half pilly, I cast to the same spot, then bait drops down and a bit then bang zzzzzzzzz. Oh yeah baby here we go. The little pfluger was screaming off. My thoughts now turn to how lazy I was not to use a new leader and how was I going to get this thing in. Anyway, I played him for a while and managed to slide him up the rocks! Woooohoooooo! Now the call from the mrs was please throw him back! "I will tomorrow babe". Got home within an hour to the kids still asleep and a nice 63cm snapper in the esky! At least I've got something to weigh in! Thanks for reading, Cheers scratchie!!!
  25. I live between there. What would you like to know? Cheers scratchie!!!
