  1. You were scratchie to get out there and chase a Jew! Lol. Mate, well done and you managed to take the mrs along! I know how much you love catching the beasts so great to see you get amongst it and put up a post. It's a shame our our mate diesel didn't go with you. Haha. As for the hawkesbury classic, not sure if I'm in this year as old mate pulled the plug but I'd weather looks good I might join you! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. It's a trumpeter! Very common everywhere! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Thanks Vic, not sure what it was but didn't feel like a Jew, maybe a shark! Hmmm but last time I called that it was a Jew and went 26kg
  4. Always nice to get a fish when sight casting! By the photo, it looks like a nice morning to be on the water in a yak! Well done! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Just on 60 I think mate! Just got a couple pics and let it go!
  6. No mate port Stephens. I only live 10mins from boat ramp!
  7. Thought I'd sneak out for a quick fish tonight. Only because it was the first time the wind has died all week. Only spent 1 1/2hrs after last light on the wrong tide but they were still there. I got smoked by something that managed to break my 80ld leader and I was not happy at all. I didn't have any livies but some Cali squid did the trick! I get em next time! Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Yeah true mate! I'm out here now practising for when you come up on the weekend! And what do you know!
  9. I know you can't discuss it but I would charge them for loss of income! You catch that many fish to eat and been without a boat for so long! Grrr
  10. Thanks mate. It was a great morning on the water until that bloody wind kicked up!
  11. Thanks frank. The key to teaching kids is patience and start them at a really young age! My 4 kids all were shown how to fish at age2. The two older boys call what fish it is by the way it fights.
  12. Lol......... Don't tell her! All my rods, reels and gear cost $5. Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Great shot...... Mine lasted 2.5 weeks! But I got sick of taking it off and back on everyday anyway! Now I just leave the trailer hitched to the car! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. That's gold. Must have been a long day for those boys! His reaction time was so slow! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Scratchie

    Bloody wind

Lucky escape there mate! Agree about the wind... It's driving me insane up here. I'm not sick but have time out and still can't get out there fishing! Grrrrr!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Narrabeen lake was a place that addicted me to fishing as a youngster. When I was 11, I caught a 45cm bream with a handline there on a school camp, which to this day is still my PB. I took it back and the chef, cleaned and cooked it for me. It was better than the slop everyone else got. That's great to hear it still produces! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Did you catch anything at all?? I was struggling up there too, which is not the norm for me in Forster. I always grab a bag of flatty or whiting, but the wind was blowing hard at times while I was there. I didn't even manage to get my yak in the water! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Thanks for your kind words Ian. It has been a stressful couple of weeks and was just what the family needed. The youngest was taught to cast on that day with SP's and managed a little tailor, he was stoked! Rod management was more about me standing back and directing traffic! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. There are some low life's about that do these sorts of things but you can scrub port Stephens off any potential list. However, anywhere else I travel, I lock my trailer onto the towbar just as a preventative measure and at this still doesn't stop them from stealing my rollers. This has happened at parsley bay Brooklyn and Apple tree bay Cowan creek. Really annoying! Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Welcome frank!!! What a great way to start your fishing addiction. That's a very respectable size bream. Keep at it mate and sharing your ventures! Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Gees, a bit of bad luck there Mr Groper. I was wondering why I haven't seen many of your awesome reports lately. Hope you get it sorted soon! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Hope it is too! Getting sick of the wind up here ATM.
  23. Lol. Don't need to brag, it's there for all to see! The marlin should be on then too!
  24. It is a type of shark. A shovel nose shark. They actually aren't that bad to eat but the bigger they get, the worse they taste. There are thousands of them in the bay and If you sit your bait on the bottom there's every chance you'll get one! For me they are throw backs!
  25. Thanks joe, with summer approaching I don't think you can go past the breathtaking PS. Let me know if u get up this way.
