  1. Jeffro!!! I love your work sunshine! The softies are awesome I think, just as good as bait if not better in certain situations. Even though they don't smell like their food they definitely get fish's attention with the right retrieves. You are catching on quicker than most when they start plastic fishing. You should be proud dude.

Thanks luc, not bad ay! I still use the knot you taught me for trout fishing. Seems to work pretty well, so I'm sticking with it! :)

  2. Jeff, I can imagine the excitement over a fantastic catch like that - I'm getting exciting being all the way here! Jew on SP is something special and not everyone has ticked that box (including me!). You've learnt fast and earned your stripes in a spectacular fashion. Maybe instead of getting tips from me, I should be asking you haha! Fantastic work and on 6lb too. Now you've cracked the code, there may be a few big 'meterys' out there waiting for you!

    Pete

Thanks Pete. It was a big thrill. Wouldn't say I cracked the code but I understand the strike zone from bait fishing. However, after reading many posts (especially yours) I now work the sp much better and understand that the pause is important to stay in that zone!

  3. Guys I was joking, Honest!

Apart from crook knees, irregular ticker, "arthur itus", weak eyes and an inability to programme a DVD I would not want to swap with the fit looking 22 YO shown below in 1963 cleaning a Kingie caught fishing off Kirra Beach in a boat he built himself.

    Keep them coming!

    Cheers

To be honest, I was impressed you know how to use a computer, lol.

I was waiting for you to tell the story of the bag of broken biscuits costing a half penny! Haha.

But in all seriousness there are many elder people that demand respect, and they should always be respected. However they sometimes fail to reciprocate that notion.

The only thing I wish is that the old farts would tell me where there good fishing spots are, lol.

    With respect,

    Cheers scratchie!!!

  4. Hi all,

Just a quick report. I've been doing a bit of sp fishing of late and been somewhat successful. The key is definitely patience and persistence. Today I tick off another first with a nice little jewy! I was using a 7inch something with 1/2 jig but only using 6lb line. Think the set up was overkill for 6lb but it worked a treat. Got smoked twice and lost a couple of SP's but the one I got was a great fight and I was pretty excited.

  5. Great work Pete! Some really productive sessions there. That last photo of the whiting is a horse. Looks more like a bonefish! I've been working the SP's a lot more lately with mixed results. I'm in a end of season 3 day trip this weekend, fingers crossed weathers good.

    Great report mate.

    Cheers scratchie!!!

Had to take it for a run yesterday! Was out for about an hour and a bit. The wind wasn't to bad, so top speed was 8kph. It's definitely a bit lazy but I can see the benefits in certain situations. I already have a finder that I took off the boat when I upgraded, will install shortly! Great fun, I think I'm addicted!!!

    Cheers scratchie!!!
