  1. Great report! And a timely reminder to log onto marine rescue! Well done 👍 cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Nice work Baz good to see you get out. Me and Woodsy had a similar day Wednesday. No marlin and plenty of micro mahi. Managed a few snapper, pearl perch and 20 plus bonito (kept 4) and the only strike was a 60kg bronzy that we thought was a marlin at first as it slammed the livey and made half a jump! Got it boatside and released safely! Water and bait was amazing just a lack of beaks. Didn’t hear of one all day! 😩 cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Well done Dave especially on the pb! Looks like a nice part of the world for a paddle! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Nice work Rick! Some good bait there! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. I’m looking to head up that way in May with a few mates! Great fishing in that area! I’m hoping to get amongst some Spanish again! Cheers scratchie!!!

  8. Haha, I wonder where you heard that. 😝 Good stuff as always yowie! I’m sure many are envious of your hacking trips! Cheers scratchie!!!

  10. Nice work! Drummer are such good fun to target and are pretty good on the chew too! Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Everyone has preferences for setups and what works for them. In the Bay Area, I use a 2-4kg 7ft rod. 8lb braid and 12lb leader when chasing flatty and a 1/8oz 3/0 jig. There’s some big flatties about and they are not leader shy. You should be able to cast a fair distance with that outfit. If chasing bream or whiting drop the leader size to 6lb with a 1:6pz jig and 2 1/2inch sp! Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Plenty of bread and butter species. Just a running sinker with 30cm trace and long shank hook. Fishes better at high tide!
  13. That’s it ay mate! Definitely there, just need a bit of luck sometimes!
  14. That’s because there’s too much current. Bait fish won’t hold there! Hence the lack of marlin about! Normally this time of year, the “inshore program” is going off. The bait is definitely here but the currents are messed up and so is the water! When things settle down next week, we should see more action!
  15. Thanks Baz! I think Sam summed it up though............ (Mate i get a headache just thinking about your never ending tasks 😂😂😂😂) Haha 🤣🤣🤣 I hope you manage at least some time on the water!
  16. Cheers Frank. Always good to see a nice one hit the deck! Thanks Paul. Not a bad pannie! Cheers Trav. Year round snapper fishing up here! I bet you can’t wait. Gods country up here! Haha Yowie. Believe you me, I found it really to go!!! 😝😝😝 Thank you Cheers Rick. Lost a cracker too! 😩 Thanks Sam. Still quiet off Port. This sourtherly should stir things up a bit! Yeah I feel for Woodsy! 😝 Mate, no to rub it in but it was one of Woodsys plastics too! Haha 🤣Yes motor oil 7inch shad zman!
  17. G’day raiders, Just a quick report from this arvo. Had the opportunity to get out with Woodsy for a couple of hours after work today! The champ had already caught a heap of livies before he picked me up so we headed straight for Broughton! Drifted the sisters with plenty of bait present but no fish so we moved on! Hit our next mark and the bait was present again but no real takers! We persisted and I managed a couple of pannies which were returned and Woodsy had a couple of enquiries. There was only enough time for a couple of more drifts before the southerly hit and a change of sp was all that was needed. Cast out and got nailed, this thing used every bit of the current and put up a good fight until it was well netted by Woodsy! A couple of pics and time to cast again! Next cast, I barely had time to put the bail arm over and was absolutely hammered by another red that nearly ripped the rod out my hand. Tried to wind and set the hook but unfortunately this brut got the better of me! By now the wind had kicked up strong and it was time to pack up! Great couple of hours on the water with Woodsy that was very much needed to clear the soul. I gave Woodsy the fish as he supplied me plenty on my dry spell last year! 😝 Thanks for reading...... Cheers scratchie!!!
