  1. None in your spot rick! I think we caught them all the other day! Haha 🤣
  2. Dohhhhh. Well that was kind of our result!!! Headed out with @Woodsy1 and @tyrone07 yesterday in search of a beak! Gentlemen start of 615. Bait first incase we need it later, headed straight to the fad and carpark later!! The water inshore up here has been cold and dirty for the past month and yesterday was no exception! All the way to the fad is was around or under 20c. We got there and there were divers on it and they didn’t get anything. So one quick circle and off we went. The further we pushed the better the water got and by time we hit the shelf it was 27deg. Trouble was there was no signs of life! Not many birds, no bait anywhere and the current was running downhill at at least 4knots. We persisted and circled areas I’ve caught in the past but it wasn’t to be! Mind you, the conditions that presented themselves were the best I’ve ever fished in! We stuck it out and did the miles but just couldn’t find any bait. So with glass out conditions we pulled in the lures and screamed back to Broughton at 30plus knots and hoped for a couple of snapper! They were still there, Woodsy managed a couple of legals, I pulled a nice one just under 60 and Tyrone learnt the lesson of tighter drag and what a good snapper can do to you! Haha 🤣 So all wasn’t lost. Pulled the pin and back to the ramp at 6. Wasn’t great to draw a blank but that is game Fishing! Thanks for the day Woodsy and Tyrone, always a pleasure! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Yewwwwww! Giddy up Sam! I’m glad my intel proved fruitful. Find the bait, find the fish! If you’ve touched the leader, then that is your first marlin champ! You don’t need photos to prove anything. The excitement stays forever! Well done! As suggested by rick and paddyT, that’s some quality info right there!! The two keys tips are grab the bill fingers/palms down and make sure the angler has backed off the drag! Then, there’s nothing like being rag dolled by a 60plus kilo fish! Haha 🤣 I wish the water was the same up here! Fishing just got a whole lot more expensive ! Tight lines, cheers scratchie!!!
  4. That’s an awesome haul. As rick said, that’s what raiders about! Providing as much info as we can, helps all of us! I don’t think I’ve seen a bag like that from Lake MAC before! Well done 👍 cheers scratchie!!!
  5. No secrets here! Just keep casting!
  6. As always guys and gals. PM’s ONLY
  7. Mustn’t be getting the snapper we have up here!!! I’ve been smoked on 20/20 multiple times! I’ve even created new swear words!!! Lol 😝
  8. Thank you! Glad we can help in some way. I try to put as much info into a report I can. If there is questions you have, then fire away!
  9. Haha, forgot about that one! I thought you’d hooked the fad it was that big! 😝 Great day out mate!
  10. Yep! My mate went 4-4-2 of Sydney Wednesday! Not deep either 🤔
  11. If your looking to target decent snapper, king and Jew, then that whole set up will not stand up! You need a minimum of 4-7kg rod 4000 reel and 20 lb braid with 20-30lb leader! Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. One word BN...... Disgusting!!!! Although the country is in severe drought, in this day and age, the mismanagement of our regional waterways is criminal. Someone has to put there hand up and fix this problem! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Yes! Generally for marlin fishing! They run behind the boat and imitate fleeing bait fish! That one is a cheaper version!
  14. They are teasers you troll behind your boat to attract pelagics! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. The co op as you drive into the car park for the breakwall. Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Total different fishery for kings over there! Well done on landing a monster! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Haha, no worries! I’ll take some good flatty or Jew fillets anytime! I do chase them sometimes, but I find it hard to resist going offshore! Your on fire too champ! Love your posts!
  18. They did! Apparent electrical fire! They were also being surrounded by a shark whilst on the water! I’d be buying a powerball ticket!
  19. Just keep persisting mate! Good things come to those who wait! They don’t call them the “ghost” for nothing! Tip: fish tide changes, low light periods, anchor up and find drop offs, use fresh or live bait. Don’t go too heavy on leader (20-30lb leader) patience! Then, when you do finally get one on your targeted area, take note of the tips above! Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Thanks buddy! Your turn next! Cheers! Was pretty glassy all morning! The snaps fired up with the wind!
  21. That’s some good fishing mate! You’ve been doing well lately! Love your work! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. End of wall on runout, try throwing some fresh squid into the current! Very little or no weight at all. If they are there then hang on! Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. Thank you and yes Port Stephens is pretty special.
  24. Thanks mate Cheers yowie! 3 families ended up with a good feed and we had all the fun in the process Bahaha, I thought to myself rick hasn’t been here for a while. Let’s check it out! Glad we did 😝 Thanks BN. Local knowledge can be priceless at times! So to can being a stubborn bugger! The marlin will be here soon but once again, it’s about persistence!
