  1. So good to see another fishraider on the board with Australia Lure fishing. Congratulations Pete on a quality podcast champ! 🙌🙌🙌 cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Everyone has a differing opinion because all our taste buds are different! Not only that, quite often due to the way it is presented or cooked. Mine…… 1. Coral trout 2. Red emperor 3. Spanish mackerel 4. snapper 5. flathead 6. Atlantic salmon 7. Yellow fin or Longtail tuna 8. Kingfish 9. Mahi Mahi 10. whiting Either cooked, sashimi or ceviche. It all comes down to how it’s prepared and/or presented! cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Cheers guys! Looks like you all enjoyed yourselves regardless of the change of plans! cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Great work lads! Keep ticking those boxes 🤙 cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Great video lads. Once again, the master showing the apprentice how it’s done. I love the feedback from the other boats! 😂😂 What a cracking day on the water. Thanks for sharing! cheers scratchie!!!
  6. What a great account of your trip Gordo! Isn’t it good to be back travelling again. Congrats to you both on rescuing that Eagle. Something you both will never forget and neither will wedgetail. cheers scratchie!!!
  7. Nice work yowie! Good to see the whiting coming on the bite and a couple of slappers there too! 🤙 cheers scratchie!!!
  8. How awesome is that!! 👏👏👏 Great to see a couple of raider legends catch up. I hope the harbour serves you well. cheers scratchie!!! p.s you can have the bananas!
  9. Solid effort Rob. If you waited for the prefect forecast then you’d never get out there. Although, it was right this morning and back to bed I went at 330. Enjoy the whiting. Beautiful fish to eat! cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Yewwwwwww how good is that! Well done 👍 cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Great work Dave! I love fishing that place. My best ever whiting came from there. Have they opened it to the ocean? It was closed off when I was there in February. Good to see you nail a few! cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Masters of their craft 🙌🙌🙌 The little laugh of Stewy cracks me up. Obviously Stewy behaved himself during filming. There were so many lines Pete left open that I know what Stewy really wanted to say! Lol 😝
  13. Whilst whiting is a great eating fish, they just don’t make the top shelf like snapper 🤙
  14. Solid effort Bob. Getting out a couple days in a row is truly a blessing. Well done for putting the young fella onto his first fish too! That’s a day he’ll never forget! 🙌🙌🙌 cheers scratchie!!!
  15. @Denisfisho An absolute wealth of knowledge has been offered in this post. Thank you to all the raiders for their input. My advise is pretty simple and is something that I tell every fisho that I teach or that comes out with me fishing. It is the key to my success with lures anyway JUST KEEP CASTING cheers scratchie!!!
  16. What a great collaboration. I love seeing raiders catch up and have a fish! @Picklesi think @Yowiewent on the premise that there are no mowies in the Hawkesbury 😂😂😂😂 Sounds like a great day out fellas! Well done 👏👏👏 cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Cheers. Made for a good lunch Absolute great spot Pete. Very quiet and birds singing and then the fish came on the bite 👌 Hahahahahaha I’ve got heaps! Cheers bro Thanks Isaac Hahahahahha my son must have put the rods in there 😂😂😂 I don’t mind fishing the bay when the conditions outside are not conducive. Always something to chase 🤙 Cheers mate! Nah that Mo has taken him heaps to grow! Lol. Thanks Rob! It’s good to have a target and land a few! 🤙 Cheers
  18. G’day raiders, Just a quick report from up here. Headed out at gentleman’s hour this morning with the excuse that we need to check our crab pots. Well, that went smoothly, so we did as we said and went and checked them. Nothing in there except for a small banjo that was released. We then thought well while we are out here we might as well throw some lures for the best part of the tide! 😉 Thought we’d change it up a bit and throw around some sugarpens and top water lures in some good areas. It didn’t take long for a few follows and then a couple of boofs them WHAM. The little rod and reel is singing and on board comes the first whiting. Well it was pretty consistent after that and me and the eldest were doing pretty well. We changed over to some sp lures and nailed a few flatty each as well. Called it quits after an hour or so and released nearly all of the fish except for two whiting that came home for lunch. Fish of the day went to Tyran with a 39cm elbow slapper off the top! Was great to see it stalk the lure then smack it. Thanks for reading, cheers scratchie!!!
  19. You’ll have that Jew report soon! Just put the time in 🤙 Cheers Rebel There’s always a backup plan 😂 They are on par with me! Depends on the way you cook them. Been to Darwin twice but never caught a thread fin or Barra. I’ll get back up there one day!
  20. Consolation prize Bazza. 👏👏👏 First trip back out in the blue and you pick up a raider record! There’s motivation to get back out there and get another! cheers scratchie!!!
  21. They sure were! All fish were caught in less than 0.8m of water on the start of a runout tide. I tried a few different lures but a 5 inch white Berkley gulp Jerkshad was the only plastic we caught them on. Slow rolling them just off the bottom was the most effective way!
  22. Thanks yowie! Hahahahahha yeah they definitely don’t play to the script. Grrrr Cheers Thanks. Made for a fantastic lunch Hahahahha funny Rob! I actually rate them equal. But prefer chasing snapper 😉 Thanks Bob! Great feed. I haven’t put the time in over the past few years to chase jewies, so I don’t really deserve one at the moment! One will be silly and take the bait soon enough!
  23. G’day raiders, Hatched a plan with my eldest son this morning to get out in the bay and see if we could find a Jew. Launched the boat a bit later than expected but quickly scooted around the corner and landed 4 whiting to use as livies. Then fast tracked it back to middle island looking for a Jew. Conditions were perfect but someone forgot to invite the jewfish to the party. After the tide change had started running without a bite or a marked fish we decided on another option. ( @Rummers sometimes they just aren’t there) Next plan was to go and see if we can find a flatty or two. Struggled a bit in the area we went to but once the run out was in full swing then the fish started coming in thick and fast. Every drift landed a couple of fish and sometimes we were both doubled up! Spent about two hours doing that before having enough for a feed and releasing a heap as well. All up we landed 15 fish and kept 6 which made for the freshest lunch ever! Thanks for reading, Cheers scratchie!!!
  24. Like most fishing Rummers, catching a monster fish is all about time on the water. Although with Jew fish it’s even more time out there. Glad I could help with a livie spot. Keep getting out there and will look forward to your jewfish report! cheers scratchie!!!
