  1. Good work Kent. Late arvo can definitely turn the snapper on. Just remember to keep casting! Well done 👍 cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Well you should be able to pick some livies near the headlands burleying up! Torpedo tubes or near the buoy in shoaly furthest to the west!
  3. The wreck at corlette sometimes has them. There is no real consistent spot in the back half of the bay. You can definitely try the jetty at Sally and let me know how you go! 😀 cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Hahahaha it was definitely a Cinderella bite but a welcome one! Thanks Rob! That’s exactly why I go fishing! I love seeing people with big smiles!
  5. Ohhhhh Bazza! Good to see you get out there and have a go! Sorry to hear it wasn’t successful as you would have liked but I tried my best to help you. Sometimes the fish just ain’t there either! I had a few mates up there that didn’t do so good either. I’m sure your boat would have appreciated you getting it wet! Looks like a cracking morning though! I’ll get you out soon! 🤙 cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Cheers BN. We do work hard. But have so much fun trying 🤙 Thanks rebel Cheers mate! Hahahaha! Funny indeed 😉
  7. We always put a lot of casts in! If we can get the right casts, into the right areas, with the right set up, with the right techniques and the right lures, then get lucky! We generally do alright 😂😂😂
  8. Thanks mate! Loving the new iPhone. Takes great pics Cheers Mick but credit goes to your effort and determination to keep persisting as we both try to work out where these fish are and what they are doing! Solid fish mate and saved the day! Thanks yowie! Always worth the effort Cheers mate! Time on the water equals fish. You gotta put the time in. 💯 mate! Couple of nice bonus fish too! Cheer mate!
  9. Nice work on the gummies! I love that photo with the bend in the rod! What area are you fishing? cheers scratchie!!!
  10. G’day raiders, Headed out with @back cruncher yesterday. We left the ramp pretty early at 4am and made our way down the bay. Tried for livies for 10 minutes but only managed a couple of yakkas. Headed north and tried to get to our spot for first light. We were the first boat there and with anticipation started the drift. A few casts later and Mick was onto a decent snapper and into the net it goes. A few more casts and I managed a pannie and so did Mick. We worked a few different areas and worked bloody hard to find a productive area but the bites were few and far between. I managed to add a couple more pannies to the box, although the morning was getting on and the hope of a good day with the fish on the bite was dwindling. We decided to make the move back home but tried a few more spots on the way. That proved to be a good decision as Mick had a midday cast into the washes and the reel starts screaming. I quickly wind in my line and watch mick play out this fish. A good tussle back and forth and into the net it goes! And with that fish it made an ordinary day well worth the trip. It was good to see Mick get a few as he puts in a lot of effort and yesterday got the rewards. All in all, still another a great day and I’m sure we’ll be back out there soon enough! Thanks for reading, cheers scratchie!!!
  11. A couple of pannies plus another few feeds! Nice yowie! cheers scratchie!!!
  12. Some nice healthy reds there!!! On soft plastics too. That’s a great effort of Sydney. Did you pull a 90cm king too? Great day! cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Sounds like a great trip! Congrats on the PB. cheers scratchie!!!
  14. 💯 couldn’t put a better day together if I tried. 🤙
  15. Thanks rebel. Love fishing with my kids. Cheers mate! Sorry to hear that. I’m he’ll get it fixed soon enough and you’ll be back out there in no time
  16. Hahahahaha Fab! You are certainly a realist! I’d love to see you write an optimistic post! Surely after the amount of time you’ve spent on fishraider you could scrap together a feed! 😂 cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Great report and fantastic catch! Nothing like a feed of elbow slappers. cheers scratchie!!!
  18. No other photos mate! He trolled it for two hours and no hit. So he doesn’t rate it as bait either!
  19. Crazy!!!! Asking for a mate. He caught 4 of them 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  20. Great feed of flatties there mate! Try the recipe that I just put up in the kitchen! cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Oh wow Bob! Definitely a rookie error leaving that late. Same up here mate, boats everywhere and we have a ramp closed too 😩😩 You still managed to get out there and slay em so well done champ! Don’t think you’ll be getting out on the ocean Monday or Tuesday. Doesn’t look great! cheers scratchie!!!
  22. G’day raiders, There are many ways to cook fish as you know but I’m always searching for something quick and easy so I can go from catch to plate. Gets me out of cleaning the boat whilst I fillet and get lunch ready! 😂😂 Anyway, a couple weeks ago I messaged Cristy Worsteling (ifish) and asked what her go to batter was. To my surprise she messaged me back with this recipe. I tried it and it’s a family winner. 1 cup self raising flour 1/2 cup soda water 1/2 cup beer whisk thoroughly and place in fridge for 30-45mins. (cheat: place in freezer for 10 mins if you can’t wait) Try it and I’m sure you’ll love it. cheers scratchie!!!
  23. Thanks Bob. We actually got 3 snapper in total but only one decent one (almost 70). With a lack of current the snapper will disappear and unfortunately the island was at a stand still. Finding a feed off the bottom up here is relatively pretty easy. But your right, teaching the kids how to do it will serve them well.
