Ace, as soon as the water starts to warm up they go quiet. Last week it was 13.6 in JB so I reckon by the end of this month the water might be 15 or so and they may well be on the way out until next winter. Having said that I am no student of Hairtail and my wife tells me I am wrong all the time about everything on the planet so who knows!

I think this is an interesting one: 12 Speed restriction where persons under 18 years on vessel(1) The operator of a vessel must not operate the vessel at a speed of more than 60 knots if any person under the age of 18 years is on board the vessel I must remember that next time i go out on the boat. We ventured out to JB yesterday afternoon and fished for absolutely nothing. Our catch of the night was a 20 cm Tailor that we sent back to the water gods. Water was a bit dirty and we had zero pilchards (we only found out once we were anchored) so tried some mullet we had in the freezer. Oh well there is always the next trip. Hope you did better than us.

Thank you Donna. I appreciate 'one armed' response. Jeremy will keep this reel and rod for a very long time. Having done a lot of research I am torn between the Ci4 and the Sustain. I know that Mr Scratchie knows his stuff pretty well so I will probably go with his recommendation. I am off to the shop tomorrow. Had 2 dental implants yesterday afternoon, what a fun exercise that has been. Stay safey everyone.

They seem to come on about 4pm for an hour then it is on and off all night.

Donna I was just thinking about this for some reason I can't explain. What about one of the national retail chains of fishing tackle and associated stuff. We all buy hooks, sinkers, rods, reels and lord knows what else. I would think certain companies would find us a very desirable place to advertise/sponsor. The franchisor/head office would have a marketing person or team and the cost would be negligible to them. The mere fact there are circa 25,000 Fishraiders would place them in good stead with their branch/franchise network. No names here but there are 4 big players in this game. They are all looking for an edge over each other. Another idea is what about one of the very big chains of hardware. No names again but there are 2 and they would do anything to out market each other.

I have grown up kids and they wouldn't dream of going fishing with me. They are too busy with their own kids. Such is life.
