  1. We have lost so many baits it's crazy. Just caught a 51 cm jewfish. We are on to them now. Where are my raider mates? Never mind I will clean up for you!!!!!
  2. Water is 13 and there is virtually no wind. The sun is setting and so we have just thrown 2 rigs out. Fingers crossed they like the look of our bait! It is already pretty cold out here Somali jackets are now on.
  3. So we are now anchored in Jerusalem Bay. The dinghy is launched and my son is nagging to get the lines out. Time for a cup of tea then we rig up. Look forward to seeing you all over the next couple of days. Just starting to spit rain.
  4. in 24 hours time we should be sailing into Jerusalem Bay ready to start catching Hairtail. We cant wait. Off to buy some more triple gang hooks this afternoon. I note that the Sunday morning minimum is slightly cooler than Darwin at 3 degrees? its cold just thinking about it.
  5. We will go out on Thursday afternoon and will clean out all the Hairtail before you lot arrive.

    New car

good choice of cars. Isn't it Kia that has a 7 year warranty?
  7. Donna is not anti alcohol she is simply trying to reinforce the safety angle for everyone. After all we don't want to lose anyone overboard or see anyone booked for being over the limit. Remember we can be booked for being over .05. That's why I made my wife do her boat licence!!! Lol.
  8. That I a terrific result. Congratulations
  9. We catch a few big salmon and we use a triple on a pilchard that floats about 5 metres down. We use a sinker to keep it in position with a leader that is about 40 cms long.
  10. If you just rattle off the names you get Inglis, Cronk, Thurston etc. it really is quite clear why they keep winning. I think we need to clean everyone out and start again. Hopefully some of their super stars will retire soon.
  11. I fell asleep in the middle of it. Which is of course why I am awake now!
  12. What on earth are you going to do if you catch a big one? Have you looked at the teeth on those fish? Did you know they are coated with an anti coagulant so if you get bitten you just keep bleeding. Good luck with that.
  13. They are ok if you know how to cook them. My wife is from Hong Kong and over there they are called Silver Belt and are regarded as a good eating fish. They have a lot of bones but are tasty.
  14. Metal on metal is probably producing some hybrid form of galvanic reaction thus the corrosion to ganged hooks.
  15. Good luck with the riding. i used to watch that stuff as a young bloke at Westmead. Didn't know it was still going on. Stay upright.
  16. The wretched things can come on the bite at any time but generally speaking most of the action is over by 10.30pm. Having said that last year we had a good run after mid night at Waratah.
  17. Just thinking how stupid I am. I will be handing out stubby coolers in the middle of winter in the coldest place on earth! So funny.
  18. I was thinking, if we had a nice looking notice I reckon we could get it shown at the local marinas, eg bobbin head has 200 boats, Akuna bay has circa 350 and then you have the 2 or 3 at Brooklyn, they would have 100 or more between them. That would be great coverage for Fishraider and HBA. Thoughts?
  19. Talk about confident!!!! We look forward to seeing you there. I have just ordered 50 stubby coolers as give aways on the weekend.
