  1. That’s a cracking doggie on 30lb well done
  2. Spoilt for choice up your way mate hah. Love my sessions chasing the humble Dusky 😉 🤔
  3. Flattys are definately on, we managed 17 to 70cms yesterday afternoon and a hour and a half session
  4. Bang on 75 again, last three lizards have all been that size. Maybe I just catch the same fish in different spots 🤔
  5. As long as the day is all about her including baiting hooks, unhooking fish, and everything else she is happy
  6. So finishing up some work training Thursday and the weekend off I thought I would take the wife on an adventure north to Lake St Clair for an exploratory mission and a quick fish. With very limited freshwater experience I was stoked the wife hooked and netted a cracker bass off the top all on her own. With only a few smaller rats I was stoked with the result being the first time up there. Today I hit the local chucking vibes and plastic and managed to land a cracker lizard in 8 meters of water on a zman paddlerz, 3/8tt jig head. All up landed 9 Lizards with my mate which were all released.
  7. Cracking reds fellas well done, top day for it
  8. Can handle just about anything but the wind when flicking lures, understand the frustration!!!
  9. it may well and truly have been a male but it is widely accepted that males platuea around the 49-54cm range, I have a personal limit that I release any fish over 60cms regardless ?
  10. G’day guys, with a few days off mid week I made the most of the conditions and had a flick around the local. Flicked a variety of soft vibes and plastics mixing it up between 3-4inch paddle tails and changing the weights to match the depth and tides I managed to put a number of fish in the boat. Majority of the fish were smaller around the 45-50 Cm mark but were in good numbers. Managed to get a 75cm female late In the arvo which after a quick happy snap was released. Now is the time to get out to your local estuary, tie on a plastic and have a flick.
  11. Hey mate is the fad out there?? According to DPI it hasn’t been put in place yet? Good feed on the flattys
  12. Hahahahaha I dunno about that the missus always would win if push came to shove. I brought my pooping gear but cNt fish off the resort we are staying on. Going with a charter Friday though so pumped for that
  13. Fishing is booked for Friday, not cheap but we are going jogging early for dog tooth, then have the arvo chasing dollies and yellowfin so I’m pumped.
  14. Cheers mate, that one is only considered a good fish, they regularly get them over 30kgs still, all are catch and release too.
  15. G’day All, currently sitting in Singapore Airport, awaiting my transfer to the Maldives. Anyway was up in Cairns the last two weeks for my wedding, and had planned a full two week itinerary before the big day. The wife and I went out with a guide I had wanted to go with for a while and it did not disappoint. Threw big poppers and stick baits all day, and within the last hour was rewarded with a cracking GT that fought like nothing else. We landed a number of fish including Giant trevally, Coral Trout, Mack’s and a number of reef fish. In 3-5 meters on locked drag and 100lb braid/leader it was a war, that luckily I won. Highly recommend if your ever in Cairns spending the money and chasing these awesome fish!!!
  16. Would barely call it revenue raising, have a look at the coroners findings into a large number of rock fishing deaths around NSW I think it was published in 2016, has absolutely nothing to do with banning rock fishing.
  17. Wow that is hard work mate, won’t be the first and won’t be the last caught out by a westerly blowing, we copped it heading to the Terrigal Fad one day, forecast was max ten knots and variable winds, once we hit 15km mark it was blowing westerly at a good 15-20 knots, blowing the top off the swell. Was not an enjoyable trip, plus was the dollies were on.
  18. You end up going? Forecast was nothing like predicted as usual
  19. Might wanna check the BOM mate not going to be favourable conditions at all especially wide, we had a shocker, blew the tyre coming home, luckily the spare got us home eventually.
  20. I avoid launching at Terrigal solo solely because of that surge. The kings that have been showing up at Texas and the perchys i have heard have been small lately all just legal fish. Seems to be plenty of reds around, we went south yesterday arvo and had a shocker copped a straight northerly the whole ride back.
  21. Go on Navionics/Google maps look for areas in the river where there are sharp bends, turns, points. Generally speaking due to the natural flow of water there will be a hole adjacent to where the water flows and is diverted in two directions gouged out by the natural flow of the water. If you focus your efforts around these areas around a tide change these would be your best bets. Not to sure how many are accessible from the shore in the Hawkes though.
  22. Hard days fishing beats any good day at work mate. This time of year is always tough with lower water temps and crystal clear water with all those westerlys.
  23. Haha cmon now let’s not get silly
  24. G’day Fellas I’ve just got called for a cancelled rest shift, having just bought a new house and getting married in September I could not say no to the coin. Hope you have a good feed ?
  25. Any where from 1/4 ounce up to an ounce, generally in the deeper water with current at least 1/2 ounce to get down deep
