  1. Plenty of casts in between fish that was for sure but we worked hard and got a few. Top company and a cracking day either way, the dusting is just a common occurrence when I come up.
  2. I wonder if it was whiskers who smoked me the week before, im still telling myself it was a hoodlum.
  3. Good stuff mate, I'm sure a lot of others would have just left it
  4. Haha it's good sometimes being the guide, all too common being outfished when she is onboard
  5. Had a quick window after work to take the tub for a run down the local. Launched at Gosford just before dark and fished a spot that usually delivers. I was throwing a cross fire surface lure whilst the wife was flicking a little Samaki 85mm vibe in Ghost bait. Small hops off the bottom and a bit of scent is all that is required for these lures to become deadly on lizards. The wife came up tight and after a good fight on 8lb her PB lizard was in the boat. After a quick photo the fish was safely released.
  6. I've heard of a species Terra Australis that always fights this hard, I reckon that's what you may have been fighting
  7. Good stuff mate found a few yesterday, had to.move around a bit to find them though
  8. Stonker Tailor well done, cracking pics as usual mate
  9. In regards to 'local I think a bit of common sense is all that is required, if your travelling to say a boat ramp that you need to pass five other boat ramps to get to the one you consider local that is not in the spirit of the legislation.
  10. Cheers mate, was meant to be back for three days in August but it has been cancelled unfortunately with everything going on
  11. The wife got smoked by the fish of the day but still boated a few decent ones
  12. Four days before my wedding in Cairns, the wife to be and I went GT fishing out of Port Douglas. We had caught a few smaller fish through out the day and plenty of other reef species. We were mixing it up but throwing big poppers and stick baits for eleven hours I was finally rewarded on the last drift with this GT which we estimated to be 22-24kg caught in 4 meters of water.
  13. As mentioned above the 25000 is a big bulky reel, hope you go to the gym casting lures all day you are going to feel it in your back and arms. What is your budget for a rod mate?
  14. Good feed there mate, what depth were you fishing?
  15. Nice work can’t beat fresh caught prawns 👌, plenty of other things you can use as bait
  16. Hey mate I wouldn’t use a loop knot on a jig head, just tie a uni/blood knot to connect to the jig head. I used to always use a double uni for my braid to leader knot but since costing me a cracking snapper I know tie the improved Albright that @Scratchie told me to tie and it’s a much stronger knot IMO
  17. Forgot to add when the boat went in for service I had taken everything out including landing net which I’d left at home, tense moments trying to lip grip her when she was only barely hooked in the lip
  18. G’day all, after blowing a bearing heading up to chase reds with @Scratchie @Woodsy1 and not being able to fish I finally got the boat back Monday after getting the trailer redone. Had a short shift Tuesday at work so thought I would go and chase some lizards in the local. Fishing was tough but managed approximately 8 flattys with this croc measuring in at 85cms, 1cm shy of my pb. Found we had to move to a few different spots due to wind, which we used to our advantage drifting against the tide. Big girl was released after a quick photo, caught on a 3/8tt jighead and 5 inch Berkeley paddle tail in bloodworm colour.
  19. G’day Rod where abouts you fishing? The fish are there, ive found once you find the flattys they are in good numbers you just may need to try a few different spots, we managed over 40 fish a week ago when the water was 23, fished this week and the water had dropped to 19.5 and only managed a handful. Pm me if you like more then happy to help with a few spots!!!
  20. Cracking day out for someone, least the coffee was semi decent at Beresfield BP, might have to put up a report about that 😆😆
  21. Don’t listen to Scratchie, he will only put you onto endless amounts of cracking snapper, can’t wait to see his face when I pull whiskers from his spot x
