  1. And be prepared to do long days a very very long way off shore. I wouldn't want to hook a nice fin on a tld 20. That would be a punish to bring in Your gear sounds very light for nearly all decent game fish.
  2. That is one hell of a blue eye. The game fishing sounded pretty quiet on the radio this morning. Did it get any better in the afternoon?
  3. Unlucky. It's a big effort going that far! It really does take a lot out of you. At least you had some action. A lot of guys fished it on the weekend for zip. Daniel
  4. I'll be out there tomorrow. Hopefully we find some action. Heading SE
  5. I find the glass screen pretty good. I put rain x on the out dude when I remember to help the water beed off and generally hit the inside of the screen with a squeegee or a rag on the way out. Then it's fine for the hole day. It seems to be easier to keep the fog off then Perspex. Cheers Daniel
  6. I have a full glass windscreen to the hard top at the front and clears on the sides and it's the way to go. It's is nice to be able to open the clears up on the sides if needed and the full glass at the front is great in the rough with the wipers on!
  7. The weather for the weekend looks realy good too. Might have to go and try to find one.
  8. There was a buck of boats about 20nm north of browns that did really well. There was a few fish caught around browns but there was a hell of a lot of boats out looking! Was a nice run home at least in flat seas. Still beats being at work
  9. I fished today. We didn't see a thing. I think I drive past more birds on the way home in the car. Having said that it was a good day for some, the guys fishing north got a really good blue marlin bite with boats getting 2-3 fish. It was rough early on but conditions got better as the day went on.
  10. Any joy yesterday? Weather looked great!
  11. Good on you Pete. Thanks for the report. It's always a chalange when the current is raging like that.

    How creative

True, he does save an a rego but he effectively puts salt water on his ute. Think I'd prefer to pay the rego
  13. If you wrapped it yourself you should be able to get out of that fairly cheaply.
  14. That's a massive effort Its one hell of a challenge solo!
  15. Unlucky Pete. I got out Tuesday. We eventually found nice water near the southern canyons. Managed a striped marlin 80-85kg on 15kg tackle. Was one cranky fish, nearly spooled us on the first run ha.
  16. I'm also very keen to see how this goes. I've been thinking of doing something like this for a while. Most ramps I use don't have taps handy and considering the trailer will sit for 12 hours covered in salt water it would be very worth while giving it a wash down while driving up the ramp. My trailer is tandem axial so not really worried about the extra weight.
  17. Hey mate How big is your boat? Do you mind telling us how much it's costing ? I am thinking of doing the same thing.
  18. We got good numbers of squid today but kings were hard to come by. Even with live squid the big kings wouldn't bite.
  19. I'm heading down on Friday ! Hopefully the weather plays ball. Has there been many squid in the bay?
  20. Good work Pete. Sounds like you had a great day!
  21. Yeah sat is the pic of the days now. Bumping into the north Easter all day on Sunday wouldn't be the greatest.
  22. I'll be heading out one of the days. I know I can get a crew Sunday. So that might be the day so far
  23. You shouldn't be getting sway at 100 Kms mate. It would be worth playing around with your trailer and weight distribution. Could be as simple as sliding the axle back slightly on the trailer or moving the winch post forward on the trailer I can tow my 6.6 at over 100kms with no issues.
