I get livies at the base of the wall but they are hard to get once the sun is up. If im honest i cheat and get them elsewhere then transport them to port
-
Glad to see a boatie with some common sense hah! I joke, there's only a few idiots out there
In terms of fishing i like to use livies, they do well. Can be hard to get from land though

Bottom is perfect. Top is shattered at the sleeve. How much does a replacement cost?

Hi all, found a broken pen prevail fishing yesterday. I thought seeing its a 250 dollar rod id keep it and see what happens. Its a 2pc 10-15kg 10ft i think, and is snapped in the middle at the join. Seeing its 10-15kg there is so little flex in the middle so I might be able to permanetly fix the halfs without effecting the action to much? Other options are sell the perfect condition bottom half, or pull it apart and use the parts to build a different rod? But yer, $250 rod just lying there, why not regardless of it being broken!
Cheers guys

Hey champ. I don't have a boat, but i do fish there land based and id like to say something from a land based perspective, hopefully you don't tale it personally
There are aaaaallot of land based fisho's on that wall, and the worst thing for us is someone trolling the wall 30m out. We've had people collect 4 lines before they've realised there stupidity. So just keep in mind that we are there, and we cant move like boaties. Makes it hard for us if you fish in front of us that's all.
But yes there are some nice fish along the breakwalls down there hopefully you have some luck
Cheers

Cheers man. The water really runs there doesn't it. Maybe not the best spot to through the kayak in. I want to target around the bridge with sp when the current stops, so fingers crossed

Hi all, so i have a family holiday to SWR in fortnight and hence the reconnaissance begins. Lots of reading to do, and im hoping to grab the attent on of any one with some knowledge of the area (love to hear from you PM).
Im optimistically looking at the rocks near the gaol for kingies on lives, and the bridge for a jew (if they exist - im convinced that you guys have me on some kings of extended prank). Any info on either (and livies) would be greatly appreciated. Also love to hear any other ideas, i would love to take mum out and catch some flathead, she loves them but i need to find a terrain friendly spot to target them. Ill be taking my kayak as well
Cheers guys

Start small. Do casts at half strength and get a hang of the length. I know it might sound silly, but ive watch mates try and learn, and they go straight for power.
Power is the key, BUT only if you can apply it appropriately. Start with small cast, and work your way out. My thoughts anyway good luck

Salmon are simple. I mean you can get as fancy as you want with livies, but a block of pillies and a nice gutter will get you the same result. Good fish to catch and eat (though do your research before you do eat them)
And as for jews, goodluck sir

This just sounds like too much work... goodluck, but id just go with guessing the depth

As a quick question, sorry to distract the focus. What are the sw and the nw arms. I assume they are the ones across from lillipilli and between the hacking river and gymea bay respectively yes?

Hi all, hope the fishing good. Question, does anyone know where one can purcase these? Found a lure that had been left behind and it had this connected, never seen it before.
It's that little more supple than the average snap, which had me interested
Mindful not to post stores etc, site rules n' stuff
Cheers guys

^Problem is if you go down your just a play thing for the waves. Waders are basically sails and not easy to swim in....
-
Bravo! Join the club [emoji14]Yeah don't worry about that, i'm not giving up on it, just taking a much needed break
I'll get that Jew off the beach even if it kills me!

All good champ, as long as it helped

All good. The juice can be looked at as a bit of a scam really. I wouldn't stress. Squigies pro range last in open air and come with something called sfactor (a scent rub). Im just using gulp at the moment, but in the past ive steered clear of them for this exact reason
-
Mcconachie, if it's not air tight they will dry out and you'll end up with quite a mess. I bought a water proof tackle tray and even after upgrading the seal it still leaks.
-
Awesome, ill keep a look out for that. Haven't seen that size instore before
-
Ahhhh, ok. Ill go for a look and see if i can find it.
-
....that intrigues me Cheers for the info. Glad i asked

And 1kg of juice is a bit of a pain. Ive dive a search and other ideas are jars, tupperware and sandwich bags. Just want to see fiat hand what people think ive tried a plano water proof tray, but they're water proof but not water tight....
Cheers

I know the one you mean. Good idea but im chasing something i can throw in the backpack

Hi all. Gulp plastics, got some and i think they're good. I like that theyre degradable. The damn thing is how to keep them! The bags they come in open in my bag and i loose the lot. Any ideas?
