  1. Haven't been out in a few weeks as I've been away on holidays. Very keen to get back out there decided sunday was the pick this weekend. Launched from tunks about 6 headed to the fridges and filled the tank with slimies and yakkas. Headed to a number of reefs sounding bait everywhere but not a single king. By midday I was ready to call it quits, very frustrated I thought I'd try te first spot on my way back in and have another quick look. Down goes a livie and after only a minute the rod buckles in the holder with 80lb screaming off the Stella. After a exhausting but short fight first fish in the 92cm Ended up with 4 fish, smallest 92cm biggest 98cm Getting very close to that magic metre mark! Ended up taking one home for dinner and the rest went back with tags! Awsome day out couldn't be happier with the result.
  2. I wouldn't say you would be risking your life but it isn't worth going it gets so choppy and cold and you probly wouldn't be able to anchor in that wind and wouldn't be able to fish.
  3. Good work mate! Only one way to get them... Persistence. I've done two all Nighters in a row to find the fish once and didn't even get a legal
  4. Bluefin in 1200 off sydney I heard today. One bloke had a 5 way hook up.
  5. Download navonics on your phone and have a look at all those spots you just mentioned for hills and pinicles, they will be reef, then come down them to where it drops off chances are it'll drop onto gravel, that's where you to be on te edge of the gravel and reef
  6. Well that wasn't me you were speaking to in saturday was it lol I was saying 'yea it's mick having any joy?' Lol

  10. I've used Apple tree bay till 1030 and the gates aren't shut? Plenty of people launching from there for hairtail. My mate tells me it's never shut?
  11. Wow! That's a lot of money! Good luck with it mate keep us informed
  12. Hey guys thanks for that. Mate What is the foul ground at manly/curl curl I didn't know there was foul ground there?
  13. Yea I might have try a trip down to the humps soon. Still I've never snapper fished before so don't really know what techniques to use I've seen it done a lot of ways but not sure which is the best
  14. Hey guys, So with winter coming in looking to try a bit of bottom bashing and fishing for snapper on slow pitch jigs and bait. But I really have no idea on where to find the snapper off sydney. I was thinking dee why wide would be a good place to start but then again that's a massive reef and wouldn't know where to start there either haha. Was wondering if anyone would care to share some info on snapper fishig with me in turn for some info on kings? Even better if one of the gun snapper fishermen on here would like a deckie for the day and we could smash the snapper and kings for a day?
  15. That one is kept under lock and key from anyone who knows it lol. I go over and check every so often not a lot holds on it mate
  16. So he took responsibility at least?
  17. Im in two wouldn't mind getting some pannies
  18. Greasing a wheel stud will not affect the torque enough to damage a wheel stud if have any effect, the grease is more to fight off corrosion rather than lubricate the threads. Average torque spec is about 110nm give or take 10-15nm to break a stud would take well over 200nm
  19. It's a commerical engine for sure, the boat it was on was properly never pulled from the water meaning the engine has never been flushed. Would have a very poor service history. I wouldn't buy it, in fact I wouldn't put it on my Boat if you paid me. If in doubt with these sorts of things don't but it. Plain and simple.
  20. As a mechanic I can tell you this is the difference between a tyre fitter and a GOOD mechanic. Classic example on why you shouldn't do up wheel nuts or any nuts really with a rattle gun. Rattle guns are designed for undoing things and to nip the nut or bolt up, not to tighten. Every wheel I have done up is run in with a rattle gun on the lowest setting then torqued up with a torque wrench once in the ground. Every wheel stud should be greased as well. I feel for you mate could have easily killed someone.
  21. Here is what I was sounding up when you guys showed up
  22. You guys are better and getting green eyes than me haha. Keep trying that spot I showed you they turn up there and generally you have the spot to yourself. Just drive around and try and sound them up for 5 minutes or so if they are there you will see them pretty quickly. Keep it to yourselves but. Good work you guys are consistently getting legals now, I got a legal after I saw you guys inside middle harbour.
  23. Ok so it may be harder than I think haha. So get some weed, setup your blackfish rig and get te float sitting right, mix some sand and bread together and butley up and throw the weed out. What else am I missing? Any raiders out there want to do a blackfish session and show me the way for some kingfosh tips?
