im hooked on beach fishing atm .... and am yet to catch a throw back... all keepers ...

i dont personally like it there off the shore more snags than anything i caught a good size leathery down there once

ive never needed to they dont fly off when i use them.... there was one time the wife bought me a big block of them and they where really soft that was a salting time but i didnt know about salting then...i usually get them from the live bait shop at the entrance there really fresh

I start with the bottom hook in the tail and and finish with the hook closest to the line in the head...i was saying i dont hook it through the head till last i make my own gangs ya just get some plyers and squash the barb in so you can make it then get ya knife and pull the barb out

that really sounds like a flatty to me they pick me up all the time and just keep moving. I would expect a jewie to have a good run first... thats my opinion... and ther are some jewies around in BW latley my father in law catches them all the time ... Wish i could catch one lol

I plan to give some night time fishing a try on friday night with my wife and my sister and her fiancee hopfully a dewie for me.... Im still yet to catch one

i have overhead reel with 50lb mono line and since thats the strongest line i buy i dont use a trace i have a weel designed knot i use for rigging the hook this is the only time i dont use trace i really dont like to weeken the line by tieing knots i have it rigged with a bottom sinker for when i find a school. My other rod has 50lb mono line and a 60lb trace with a christmas tree lure for trolling them. I usually have no problems unless i stuff up the knot

I use servo pillies all the time i use a 3 hook gang with some 3/0 longshank hooks and i start to rig it from tail to head the best servo pillies i get are the ones that arnt all frozen together with water if they are separated i usually have no problem

Dude now is the time to be thinking far ahead what your enjoyments are and how you can fit that into work your best bet would be to get a tertiary education mangement rolls are always fun i left it a bit late but im completing a diploma in Network Administration IT (computer Administrator) and im 28 this year if i had knuckled down and got that out of the way when i was your age id be cleaning up by now cause in that line of work you can earn over $100 000 a year with the right company. Maccas and the cinimas is good for light cash possibly for your first car and or boat and for keeping the oldies off ya back. I suggest really thinking about what you could do and enjoy. Manual labour jobs are good but ask any 30 odd year old thats done that for a while and you will be hard pressed to find one that doesnt have some sort of injury that causes them daily pain as a result. Your young think about the future and act on it dont put it off. The choice is yours Oh and dont look at the negative like not being that good at maths look at your possitives and expand on that. When i was 16 my maths wasnt that good either and its still not but i get by. Anyway thats what calculators are for.

Cuttle fish strips are awsome for trolling on the hooks of your lures ive caught bonnito and kingfish on them. the kingies love them once you find a patch of them we where just dropping in with only cuttle strips and the kingies where smashin them. There good cause there tuff

thats a pretty good idea all this talk of catchin fresh squid has made me wanna try it. I even woke up this morning dreaming about catching 3 squid on one jig and pullin kingys out of the water with my hands lol
