  1. Well done mate. Bonnies go off like an electric pulse. ZZZ. ZZZZ. ZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZ
  2. Well done Norm, it's never too late. Steve is a top bloke. Fishraider at work again.
  3. I have been once. Special rates It was May, most of the charter boats were out of the water for maintenance. Half the restaurants were closed for the season. But I learned a thing or two Old gulch is the best land based kingie spot. Walk in. The jetty is great for Gars. Garfish are everywhere. The lagoon you can get double headers( Maori wrasse looka likes) Must do Neds Beach for the Kingie feeding late afternoon. The shop in the center of town charges for advice on fishing spot. Check out Joys shop and ask for legitimate tips. Take a garfish outfit. Take any food, medicine, etc you need Half the Island shuts down on Saturday , 7 day Adventist . The other half shuts on Sunday.
  4. Glad you're ok mate. This time of year is just crazy. Hope they got him. Seize his boat and his car.
  5. Radio national Off Track has podcasts about fishing. Not just fish and how to catch them, but about people who fish. Good stuff eg. http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/offtrack/wharf-two-fishing/5947774
  6. Great stuff Tag. You and a couple of other young blokes on this site are smacking the Jewies lately. I have to throw more plastics.
  7. Great weekend Gianni, and happy birthday Seamus. I saw the boat at home on Sunday and tried to call Seamus. Kings were chasing blackfish.
  8. Great stuff Seamus. I know you do your homework, and it's paying off.
  9. Freshwater eels don't really have teeth, more like rough plates. But they do bite. I saw a kid get bitten on a golf course. He just picked his ball out of the edge of the water and the eel latched on. The bite mark had the same as you describe, a couple off tiny bleeding pin holes and a sort of light grazing that faded away.
  10. You could fill a few orders with that haul mate. Well done.
  11. Tough day mate, but you make it look easy.
  12. Nice going Steve. I had the exact same scissors, I think they were in a medical kit. They'd cut through wire. Andrew
  13. Don't feel too bad, you got him out fishing. You got a few, so he knows it works. Only a matter of time.
  14. Haha. By catch. They have to be some very fishy spots you up your sleeve. Well done mate
  15. You have a point Matt. I use 6 lb leader inside, and 10lb leader off the rocks, it's normally the leader that goes first.
  16. Top stuff as usual guys. Which one is mine, haha
  17. Hi guys, I just bought a preloved Trudex reel for Blackfish, and I can't find 12lb Dango Wax anywhere. The big shop in Coffs have Dango, but not in 12lb, another online store lists it, but it's out of stock. Even the most reliable supplier is having trouble getting it. Fleabay last sold it 2 weeks ago and overpriced plus postage. Sunline make an alternative floating line, but with my experience with their FC Rock leader I won't be going there. Any leads would be appreciated.
  18. Can one of you guys put my name on 1 and make out I caught it. Nice work mate.
  19. Great stuff Seamus. It will be interesting to find out when one gets recaptured. Keep it up mate.
  20. Haha Slow.. I guess you could have bagged out by 8. Great work.
  21. I think stevefish got it. Combination leather tool
  22. Fantastic day. Absolutely smashing it. Fishraider working at its best. Plenty more to come over the holidays I'm sure.
  23. Re the tennis elbow, mate I had it bad from guitar, it was on the left arm thumb side of the elbow. Painfull, if it hit a doorway it could send you thru the roof. I stopped playing and wore a compression strap, cured. The strap had a lump or cam you place on the painful tendon then wrap it tight. It stops the tendon extending too much, giving it a rest. Now I have it on the pinkie side of the elbow left arm, some call it golfers elbow. I reckon it's from holding a rod too long, but it could be from catching too many fish. Rather than going under the knife, try the strap (chemist shop), cortisone injections, or switching left to right. It's not uncommon amongst fishos.
  24. I remember you posting this before. http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=74124&hl=ollie Good Luck
