  1. Great fish mate. I'm sure it won't be long before you catch that elusive ghost.

Well,....you told me so. I wish I could have been there. Too bad about the conditions, there could have been a few more. Good stuff.
  3. You have to love the far north coast. Long deserted beaches, and loads of fish if you know where to look. Bream, dart and whiting are always on the cards and you don't need to cast a mile to find them. On the light gear, its one of my favourite forms of fishing. Congratulations on your first, I'm sure there are more to come. Like Trevor said, once you get a rhythm 12 ft is easy. Don't start trying to cast to the horizon. Feel the weight, let the rod load up, and lob it out.
  4. If you are referring to this style, they are the go to float on Lord Howe Island for garfish. Like you said, you can adjust the weight by filling them with water. It's great for adding casting distance. With gars you don't have to worry about balancing the float, like you do with blackfish, gars feed on the surface. I prefer a more streamline quill or pencil style for blackfish, especially when you are fishing at a set depth, I think there is less resistance when the float goes down, and when the fish is towing it. But I know it's working for you, so you aren't doing anything wrong.
  5. Top effort mate. Persistence paying off again. Not only that, you do the hard yards, try different spots and try different things. The results, FISH..!!!!! My money is on you for the Hairtail
  6. That's a great session. It must have been cool to find them, again and again. You gotta love fresh flathead. Well done.

  12. Well done mate. That's a great short session. I wonder how big the last one was.
  13. I was at Hurlstone Park just up river. And the rental car?. They are refining it. But the accent and babe in the woods, was Borat. I told the client, he just laughed ' the old jacket scam, just like the stereo speakers with a twist.'
  14. http://www.scamnet.wa.gov.au/scamnet/Types_Of_Scams-Travelling_conmen-Leather_Jacket_Scam.htm Working in a front garden today, this young Italian guy(maybe) pulls up in a No Birds rental and asks me about the area and chit chat. Then he said he worked for an Italian fashkon house AC I think. He said he ha been in the city showing sample jackets to David Jones ans Myer. He had 4 left over and if I bought one I could have the other 3 for free. He didnt want to pay for extra baggage and he was going back to Italy
  15. Why would you need a Heads Up. We are Fishraider,
  16. That sounds like a good session. 67cm flattie from there is fantastic. Congrats on the PB. The young guys re-write the rules, especially in the where to fish category. And they just walk, and walk. I have been once, and wanted to get the car when I knew next the destination. Well Done
  17. I also go satay chicken, and get some strike trigger. They sell S factor separate now.Put a good squirt in the belly gap , or just smear them.
  18. Even closer, try Brays Bay at Rhodes. Virtually snag free, and no need to get your feet wet. Walk the wall from the restaurant north towards the mangroves.
  19. Nice one Richard , you said everything I couldn't. Thank you Andrew
  20. I think I may have a resident the lives under the pontoon at my Drummoyne Friday gig. Soon as I walk on the jetty, I see this large dark fish move out to deeper water.
  21. Nice job Perchman, you could take the Fishraider record that currently stands at 49.5cm I'm assuming you got him on a lure, I don't see an EP record on bait, do they take bait?
  22. Haha.'If something is hard, it means its not worth doing' ... Homer Simpson.
