  1. After what I saw in Rose Bay I think it could be good. Or Neilsen park
  2. Go get 'em guys. All looking good, should be a great weekend. Enjoy.
  3. Found this carpark at the far end of the park. Corner of Hipwood and Bradly Ave Looks like weekends unlimited. There are only 7 spots
  4. I was going to check it out for you tomorrow. Usual Thursday gig. The gates were open when I was there, scoping it out the Thursday before. However, even if they are closed it shouldn't stop you, there are only bollards leading to the gate. No fence,
  5. I've only ever seen anything like it at Neds Beach on Lord Howe, strictly no fishing. I don't know how smart kingies are but they had the bait pushed right up against the wall. The tide was falling and those pipes come out of the wall were almost exposed, they were smashing them in the corners. Then chase the bait along the wall, then disappear, round them up, and reappear 100m back along the wall to do it again. I watched them for an hour, I couldn't leave.
  6. Nice haul mate. What plastic did the damage? And please tell us the story of the big girl.
  7. Mate they were mostly in the 60-70cm range, and maybe 50 fish in the school. I didn't see any big ones. But they would have been heaps of fun from the shore.
  8. Now...Good school of fish travelling up an down the wall near the tide restarant. Easy reach from shore. Took these pics from the footpath. No rod with me.
  9. "That's not a hairtail dude that's a shitty(record breaking) pike eel" A record breaking pike eel! Well done. Add ons by Stewy

I know it sounds weird, unseasonal maybe, I wouldn't know, I never fished for them. My mates brother owns a tackle store in western Sydney, very clued in to what's going on. Heaps of people are making the trek from Sydney, Friday and Saturday and doing allnighters.

The spot is right in the heart of Newcastle. Honeysuckle drive.

Yes they are using floats, and lights, landbased. Dont strike too quick. d
  13. Great report guys, you certainly got some fishing done, for great results. Well done.
  14. Mate, the video is unplayable.

My korean mate has been getting them for the past few weeks in Newcastle. Not huge but good numbers. Hundreds of people chazing them too.

    What can I say

Sorry I've taken it down. But that made me gag, haha
  17. Nice one mate, that is a surprise. I have heard of them taking plastics, but not HB. They must be hungry down there.
  18. It's a Quokka, most likely on Rottnest Island.
  19. Great bag mate, well done. It is fun in clear water when you can see the fish move on the bait. But then again it can be frustrating, when you can see them and they won't commit. It sounds like you started fishing for them a bit shallow. Then when you went deeper you were on the fish. I usually start deep and gradually shallow up. This is what I do, guesstimate the depth and set the float stopper. Put a weight on the hook, a sinker wrapped in tape does the job for me. Cast out, the sinker should take the hook to the bottom, and drag the float under. If it only just goes under, move the stopper down the line. If I goes way under. Move it up the line. I generally start about 12-18inches of the bottom. So when setting up with the weight, the float is 12-18 inches below the surface of the water. Weight comes off, bait goes on, float sitting normally, the hook is 12-18 inches off the bottom Good luck with the new rod, It's a very enjoyable and productive style of fishing. Ryder
  20. Net injury. Probably taken by a trawler. We get heaps of blackfish with the same.
  21. I'm using an alvey 475TCS, (Tension Control System.) It has a side cast option, and the tension control helps in learning centrepin casting, it's slows the spin.
  22. I have a wilson 10ft6 and its great for the estuary. For the rocks I use a Synderglass MT 4144. Its longer and stronger. I also have a vintage Slazenger given to me by Luderick Angler, which I treasure. The old Butterworth and Sportex rods are worth their weight in gold
  23. I have used vitanin B1 while on Fraser Island. You start taking a daily dose 2 weeks before travel. I didnt have a problem with tbem. Otherwise for mozzies etc I use Rid.
