  1. Great session guys. And a great mix of species. Well done.
  2. A bit disappointing the bigger kings aren't cooperating. But that Samson should make a fine meal. From my job site, I could see bust ups just east of gladesville in the morning, but quiet later on. I hope there is some action tomorrow.
  3. You smashed your PB. Well done

    Light Leader

P No exposure, it stays in my backpack. The worst part is , obviously, it snaps when a fish is on. But re tying to get back into it takes 2 or more tries just to get a knot that doesn't snap. And the fish are there to be caught.

    Light Leader

Fishing for blackfish, I recently changed to using FC Rock. I know now what the FC stands for..... it's garbage. I snapped the leader 5 times on fish this arvo, a few times on the weekend, and more the weekend before. It even snaps when tying knots... Locked up 1/2blood knot lubed, tighten, tug, snap. When tying it snaps at the knot, during the fight, it snaps anywhere. Can anyone give me a good alternative, I'm losing too much gear and too many fish. Cheers. Ryder
  6. Someone has to make the call to DPI. I have fished in Cockle Bay, but it was in the pond outside the old SEGA Centre.15 years ago maybe. My wife and I were headed for the Aquarium when I saw the signs. Catch a fish, Win a Rod. The Scouts had a fundraiser, they stocked the pond with Silver Perch, $10 for 1/2 hr. I got one, and took the new rod to the Aquarium,
  7. Mate, if you can afford it, and maintain it, and have a place off street to keep it. BUY THE BOAT.!!! We live on the greatest natural harbour in the world. When you have a boat it's an exclusive playground. With a boat you can explore, discover, and enjoy the place. There's so much you can do you can't do landbased. Target kings on the markers, drift for flatties, chase surface action or find a place chill out. Plenty of other places to catch squid apart from North Harbour, and you're in the best place to ask where. I think the ban was put in place once people became aware of the penguin nesting sites in the area, and it refers to No invertebrates, I reckon this was to stop the commercial prawners. You can imagine what those nets would catch.
  8. Great job Seamus. Yourself, Jordan and Gianni are very versatile fishermen.
  9. Sorry, ....Great catch. 31kg, that's big... What did you get him on?
  10. The north coast is a great hunting ground. And it could really fire up with the flood water.
  11. Wow,..what a great day and report. Mmm sashimi. Are you trying to wear out the drags on those reels? Ryder
  12. Nice work mate , I bet it gave a great fight. I know it wasnt what you were after, but you could have fed the tribe with that.
  13. An action packed session. I know you wanted to get out to the FAD, but you had a top day inside. Well done, it must have been hard to come home.
  14. A theft interrupted I'm thinking. I've been there when a guy had his stolen. They would need a vacant spot next to yours to do it, to get the trailer out. Probably parking a trailer there, you park next to them.... I hate thieves . Wheel locks with a plate that covers the studs.
  15. You're opening a can of worms, or a pack of wrigglers. A lot depends on the fisherman and the fish. I use both.
  16. Congratulations to Scratchie Jnr. Can you imagine Monday at school. Where were you?....Out catching Marlin with Dad.
  17. Nice work guys. It's great finding new spots, a bit of urban exploration. You know there are bass within 10kms or less from your place. Not to mention carp, and large exotic goldfish. Strictly lures and flies, and no landbased, you have to go early and take the kayak.
  18. Although you didn't get a hand on it, I reckon you had him. You hooked it, played it , and it came ashore. Do you think if you didn't keep the tension on, maybe..? Once out of the water, with less resistance in the air, fish flap faster and harder. Making it easier to dislodge a hook. Sorry, just putting it out there
  19. Haha, you got me. It looks like something out of Pirates Of The Carribean. Before you bring it inside, lay it out on the ground in the sun a week or two and let the ants clean it up.
