Hit the north side today to fish the last of the run in and the run out tide. My mate Michael joined me at 9am, great timing as I was on to my first fish. Michael was using my Slazenger with a spinning reel, while I used the new Wilson and Alvey combo. The downs were pretty consistent , we both missed a few, we both pulled hooks Michael ended up with 2 around 38cm, the rest were in the 30-35 range. He had to leave around 11 and took the fish for tea We only got one undersized that went back in, i stayed a while and I got a few more that I gave away to the guys on the wharf. Ryder

Everyone has those fishless days where nothing works out. Especially with new gear you want to Christen..just keep at it, it has to happen. I don't know if it has something to do with pride or ego, but I bought a Brag Mat in July and didnt get to use it for 6 weeks. By then it was just part of my kit. Not special, just normal.

It was a good session, and Seamus, you're well on your way too. One of the bigger ones had a parasite worm. It appeared as a distinct dark patch in the flesh when the fish was filleted. Thanks Royce for the smoking demo, and sharing the delight of smoked Blackfish roe. YUM.

You could try Tarban creek hunters hill. Big bream, but I've only got smaller ones on the Sugapen. With the big tides, the flats at the mouth were exposed today by 3pm. I would go earlier, and pack the plastics as well.

W4z some of the purists would argue that the Gulps are in fact bait. I use the 4 inch Gulp jerkshad in pumpkinseed or satay chicken.

Mate I think the commercial license buy back has improved rec fishing everywhere. I don't mind paying for it, we are definitely seeing the benefits. I do know one young fellow who is asking me 'where is Tuross?' Bring on the 50.

I agree it has to be made easy. I've already done a few live reports and its hard to do on a phone I also think there needs to be a distinction between Sightings of surface action, and say Hot Bite invitations for Raiders And no reporting other fishos success. eg I just saw a guy catch.....
