I've caught heaps of bream on weed actually caught more bream on weed than blackfish in one session

gday raiders fished both saturday and sunday around sydney decided to fish inside the harbour on saturday trying for king had to get some live squid as thats about all they've been taking inside at them moment i managed 4 squid and 1 cuttle one squid was a very good size and kept for dinner after getting the squid i went to one of the wrecks i know of in the harbour and marked some good bait and arches over the wreck downrigged a live squid right over them for nothing did the same at a few different markers and wrecks but only ended up with pickers and this one 30cm bream which took a whole live squid and hooked up on a 7/0 live bait hook i went back to one of the wrecks where i marked the most bait and had a bit of a jig using my gomoku and a 90g jig after about 5 drifts i hooked up solid to a nice fish it came to the surface so i was thinking it was gonna jump and be a salmon but it came right up and then ran deep after some very good runs i landed this 70cm bonito. that was about it for saturday headed out on a mates boat on sunday we headed wide the weather report was good but as you can see it was a bit rougher than forecasted plenty of big kings out there we didn't do as well as most because we couldn't get on the spot because our sounder was stuffed but we did manage a few and i got smoked a couple of times and leather jacketed and that was it for the weekend cheers sydneyfisher12

love watching it awesome show. after watching it a lot you can see the bad editing but its still a great show

hard work but good to finally get a king inside the harbour it least we know where they're holding. hopefully next time we get some more cheers sydneyfisher12

i agree i just cant see wipeing out every carp in Sydney happening anytime soon

i don't care if they net them all up i can always chase other fish. not every lake is right next to a creek imo there are plenty of spots where they are completely locked in and not gonna do any harm to anything. i don't believe every carp came in from a flood some might come from birds yes but i believe some have been let go as gold fish or accidentally stocked

not my fault they got in now they are the only fish in the lake and provide me fun so i won't be killing them in there. if they are such a massive threat to native species in other systems why don't they net the whole lake it, its not like its private and it wouldn't be that hard rather than relying on some kids that love catching them to wipe them out

because no other fish have been stocked into the lakes other than carp they were there from the start

me and my mates are pretty much the only people who fish the lakes we fish so by killing 10 or 20 carp out of a massive lake isn't going to do much and the chance of these lakes flooding into creeks is very low even when we had all this rain it didn't flood. if they were such a problem in lakes why don't fisheries go around netting them all out i can see why they can't do that in rivers and creeks but why not in a lake

What is the point of killing a carp in a closed lake where they are the only species in the lake? Most of my carp I release because they come out of closed lakes where the harm no native species. If I catch a carp where a native fish is present I'll kill them and really the only thing I can do is leave them on the bank no really wanting to eat carp when I have a freezer full of king fish. I really see no point in killing carp in lakes. Carp are a awesome fish to fight and I always want a spot where I can come back and keep catching them so that's why I realease the carp I catch back into lakes.

I've had many comments and people trying to tell me that releasing carp is illegal when its not i can understand killing them where they cause a threat to native species such as bass but i cannot see a reason to kill carp where they're the only species or don't harm the other species in their habitat. if i catch a carp in a closed lake no where near a river for the fun and fight what is the point to kill it id rather release it and catch it again when its bigger. the other day my mate was on a carp for 40mins and it almost spooled him they're a great fighting fish and a awesome species to target when other fish might not be available or the weather is not good enough to get out cheers sydneyfisher12

i use the shaking retrieve and then let them sit on the bottom for a while (dead sticking)

gday raiders fished the harbour all saturday on the harbour at 4am and got back at 5pm for not a single king i tried every wreck, marker and reef known to me it was completely dead i tired to head offshore but was faced with about 3m of swell and 15kn of wind not the weather i want to head 10km offshore in. did land 2 tailor about 55cm and a just legal snapper but they all went back. fished with my mate on sunday afternoon flicking plastics around the local we had some success landing plenty of fish such as some flatties to 55cm bream to 33cm and a nice trevally going 44cm and my new pb estuary perch going 37cm all my fish came on powerbait crabbys in watermelon and same as my mate except for a few nice flatties he got on a eco gear sx40
