  1. It's a watsons leaping bonito not a frigate
  2. what people have said is right in a spot like that you really do need to lock up your drag and give the fish no chance. if somebody hooks a good fish everyone should move there line i would keep fishing there if your hooking fish keep persisting and eventually you'll land one cheers sydneyfisher12
  3. nice work mate some nice fish caught there mate. keeping fishing for those pelagics there are plenty around cheers sydneyfisher12
  4. Great work mate couple nice fish there
  5. G'day raiders Me and Gianni set out today targeting kingies First thing to do was collect some squid I quickly pulled one nice one slightly big tried for abit more in that spot for nothing headed over to a different spot and pulled a very good sized squid which was too big to be downrigger and my dad wanted to eat it. We started downrigging around the western wedding cake it was very hard with a stronger wind than forecasted and boats anchored everywhere we were marking but nothing hit the squid. We moved to the eastern wedding cake and tried there we could see the squid getting hot but not taken fully we pulled up only the hood of the squid. We also saw mike who told us where the kingies were biting. We were close to lady jane beach so decided to head over for another go at the squid Gianni quickly boated one still quite big and I got a perfect sized cuttle fish and headed over the marker mike suggested. We arrived to only one other boat catching nothing we set the first squid and I went well up current of the marker sounded some good bait and then the rod buckled and I was on and I pulled up a legal at last a legal for me We set down the cuttle and up over the same marks the rod was bouncing around like crazy so I told Gianni to strike it and he was on it fought really well and it turned out to be two kingies hooked on the same snell rig! I netted them and one went 64cm and the other 66cm we were amazed to catch two kingies on one bait We ran out of live bait so I decided to put down that hood form earlier and I hooked up instantly it was 63cm Now we decided just to use lures Gianni hooked up on a nice 64 fish and then again one at 60cm. The bite went off so we moved away to try catch some squid we had no luck so went back and found others hooking up Gianni hooked up on the plastic again but got reefed and I hooked up on a bit of squid and landed a 64cm fish and hooked up again on another 64cm fish we then started using SP's and I hooked up and landed a 63cm fish and Gianni got smoked again on a plastic The bite then went off and we headed home with two legal kingfish and a big squid Cheers sydneyfisher12
  6. omg hope i catch some of them this weekend. it only ever happens when you don't have the rod
  7. Went down there once and did well thefisherman6784 dose reall well there too. Early mornings and late afternoons are then best times. I think your rod it too short you need to be making long casts out letting it sink and then crank it back. You need to be in the right spot off the point is the best. Metals that worked for me were 10 and 20g
  8. the creeks we were fishing were out of most of the tide we found early mornings on high tides was the best but lower tides around deeper structure was working and when the tide came up we fished the shallower parts which weren't accessible on low tideCheers sydneyfisher12
  9. Got a couple of nice flattys just now going 45cm and 60cm
  10. Got about 4 nice bream this morning and plenty of flatties on lures
  11. Another nice 30cm bream and plenty of other flatties
  12. Got about 10 flatties few nice ones and a nice 30cm bream
  13. Just pulled a nice flatty going 50cm on a 2.5inch motor oil grubz slow rolled along the surface
  14. They're frigates mac tuna have ainger dorsal fin and about 3-6 black spots on there belly like this
  15. go for the 2.5inch grubz in greasy prawn or violet sparkle they will pretty much catch anything from bass to kingys
  16. great spot jersuleam bay. i mainly fish it for hairtail in the winter but you do get a lot of good by catch such as fatties, good sized tailor, bream, trevally and all different types of pelagics. i find the best way to target these species is drifting unweighted pillie cubes down a burly trail while having a few bigger baits out cheers sydneyfisher12
  17. great work mate some nice fish there cheers sydneyfisher12
  18. the top injury is definitely from a trawler i catch heaps like that in the parra and also some blackfish. the nose also could of been from the trawler
  19. using micro jigs 40-90 grams and fresh squid strips
  20. G'day raiders Today me and Jordan headed out to chase kingies around the harbour Headed straight out the heads to colours it was pretty lumpy out there but we pushed on we arrived at the reef is saw mike looked like he was collecting livies. We started jigging set a couple of baits and hooked up we also did micro jigging which was really fun we totalled 8 kingies mostly on jigs we tried another wreck and then headed in. I headed to a marker inside and there were there I hooked up on a nice one but dropped it. We moved to another marker and Jordan hooked up on his light gear it was a good fish got it in the net and finally a legal moved back and I was on this time a 60cm back again and I hooked a 64cm after that one guy drove right up on the marker and dropped his anchor straight down the marker and spooked all the fish. We moved to my favourite bream spot and we landed a few nice bream to 38cm and then we moved back up the harbour and found a bust up I hooked up a nice king on 4lb and landed it Jordan hooked a really good fish and it almost spooled him but it bust his 6lb After that we headed home Cheers sydneyfisher12
