  1. That's a great fish, congratulations!
  2. Very nice mate. I enjoyed the video
  3. That's a trip of a lifetime mate! Looks unreal and some great catches. It's definitely on my list to do too. How long did you spend up there? Are you already planning a return trip haha
  4. Cheers guys. It's a Panasonic GF2 with an 8mm fisheye lens, Recsea housing and dome port
  5. That's tops. Hopefully I'll be able to get my partner out on the water with me. It would have been very rewarding and enjoyable
  6. Cheers guys. This was out of port hacking
  7. Very nice mate. Looks like you were land based which would make it all the more rewarding. Great photo of the cod, shows some beautiful colours
  8. Headed out Saturday morning at stupidoclock (1am) on a mates boat. Did well collecting squid using the green lights. Picked up 20 by 4am all lolly pop size. We could see 30+ under the boat but they were pretty finiky. Changed the the smallest jigs we had, I think size 1 or 1.5 and were able to get a few that way. Headed offshore in the dark, slowly and carefully to another squid spot hoping to find some bigguns but it wasn't to be. As the sun came up we decided to try along the cliffs hoping to find some kings. This was new ground for us so a bit of exploration. Trolled a live squid and a fresh squid slowly along. Had hits on both fairly quickly but no hookup. Rerigged and hooked up again quickly. When the fish saw the boat it really woke up, we were thinking Bonnie or rat king, but the tail beats were real fast. Turned out to be a fat Bonnie at 55cm. A first of species for me, I was stoked. Put out some small white squid skirts and pulled in a few more. Got a bit quiet so put a diving rapala out and left one squid skirt out. Picked up a couple more. In the end we got 7 bonito and I dropped 2 more right at the boat. A fun morning out and home earlyish Cheers Waz Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Cheers scratchie, heading out again in the morning so hopefully can get a few more decent shots
  10. Sounds like a great day. I love seeing pics of trout cod so next time your out post some up for us!
  11. Haven't heard of so many whiting on blades, that's pretty cool. We're you in deeper water or on some flats? Looks like a great day out
  12. Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah it was a great trip away in a beautiful spot. Camo, the camera is a Panasonic GF2, with an 8mm fisheye lense, a Recsea underwater housing and dome port. I bought it all secondhand except the lense so got it for a pretty good price
  13. I spent last week down the coast at Culburra beach on a family holiday. Having a 4 month old meant that I didn't get to fish anywhere near as much as I would have liked, but I made the most of the chances I had. I did try off the beach at Culburra one afternoon but only managed a few small Dart. I'm still not to sure about this beach fishing thing.... Anyway got down to Jervis Bay a couple of times and walked along a shoreline casting plastics and lures. Got a few undersized flatties around the 30cm mark. Switched to a Sammy 65 thinking of possible Bream over some weed beds and hooked up to a good whiting, about 31cm. Had a couple more hits on the Sammy before landing another whiting about 29cm. I was happy to get a few fish to try out the new camera I had recently purchased. Hope you enjoy the pics. Hopefully with a bit more practice I'll be able to get some better shots. Cheers, Waz
  14. Looks like a great trip mate with plenty of action! Definately a good result from a family holiday, well done. I'm heading over in jan, hopefully get on to a few too
  15. From experience I've noticed that a UV light or black light will make a jig glow much quicker than a normal LED torch will. A UV light will get a jig glowing in about 10 seconds as opposed to 30 - 60 seconds with a normal torch. More time fishing....
  16. I don't have any good pictures of my local, but here's a pic from a couple of years ago of my missus up at lake lyell Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Top start to the season! I always enjoy reading your reports, keep them coming. Every year I say I'd like to tick one fresh water species off the list, hopefully this will be the year haha
  18. Nice one mate. You did better than me. Wind was a killer. Just got a small flatty on a soft vibe and a small whiting on a sammy but dropped it at my feet. Would of been a nice afternoon if it wasn't so windy

I'd call that a good bag mate! Flatties are right up there for me. What's your preference with table fish?
  20. Great report bud. That's a cracker of a first bass. Nice rock to jump off too
  21. Great fish, congratulations. A very enjoyable read well done
  22. Very nice! Congratulations mate. Hard work paid off
  23. Hi mate, livies are the key. The smaller the better. You can pick them up with other methods as mentioned above but you will get more with live bait. The bites get fewer after about 9am so best get there early. Some days they can get really picky and we've even had to go as low as 6lb leader with a very small yakka to get some hits. Good luck!
  24. Very nice morning mate. Frustrating with those kings. I've heard people say that when they're cruising around in a school they can be very hard to tempt
