  1.  I am back at it tonight will try it the other way round, could not find the Orange Loctite at Supercheap, only orange one I found was a hand cleaner.

i bought a red one, the kid behind the counter said it will seal anything but wasn't sure if it was water proof.

Thanks Raging for the tip, hopefully it will pump more water after tonight's re-work.

marine mechanic want $120 to change it, so far cost me $55 that's a win in my book if it fixes it.

Then I can the work out the issue with the exhaust coming out of the propeller, I might have a crack in the exhaust runner where I tried making it bigger for more power.

  2. I have a Lowrance Hook 5 and wish I bought a Hook 7 as the bigger screen the better.

im no expert but it does the job, not sure on price as it came with my boat.

    1. Biggest screen that fits you boat

whats you budget and type of boat?

  3. Since my new boat arrived in late April last year and it rained for 2 weeks. I took the opportunity to detail the boat.

    1. Vacuumed the boat to get rid of metal swarf.

    2. I washed it with my Meguires Gold wash

    3. Polished the outside and any areas where the kids would not be climbing on to jump off. Didn't want it slippery.

    4. Autosol the chrome and polished steel

    5. Scotch Guarded the carpet

    6. Wiped down the seats with Vinyl protector and cleaner.

    7. Cleaned all glass and trims

i may also have polished the motor and prop.

now i write this I think I may have a issue, but it's so easy to clean after a day out now and after a full wash down, I have been known to spray it with Qik Detailer..

it will be due for another polish soon and it helps having a big front yard and storing the boat under a cover and under a carport.

  4. Just a note:

Traveling back from Gosford today to Sydney, just after the hawkesbury I spotted something in the middle lane, as Past it I recognized it a a BCF Brag Mate, partially rolled up but was starting to open. I then passed 4 boats without cover on any of them all doing the 100 / 110km speed limit.

could only amagine what would happen if that came flying out of a boat at 100km and hit the car behind or made them take evasive action.

Short trips on 50km roads without a travel cover is one thing but at 110km then turbulent air combined with bumps will drag anything not Stowed correctly or tied down out and onto the road pretty quick.

  5. The big Camping and something store has the Abu Garcia Veritas Spin Combos fro $129 for club members in a 2-4kg, 7ft 2 piece at the moment.

    Edit:

Just checked and they seem to be out of Stock at most Stores.

If you are near Auburn there is another store there that is having a sale and he has some unbeatable prices on rods and reels, all top brands.

  6. I have 3 kids 10yrs and under they all have PFD50 jackets when we are just in the bay's and doing some Tubing.

if I am going near Syd Heads or around the area they have PFD100 jackets.

As above they don't normally complain about heat, but if it's a super hot day 32+ we often find a bay for a dip to cool off.

i have also made them jump in the water wearing the jackets so they know what the jacket does and feels like.

  7. Hen and chicken bay is the body of water Wymston Parade runs parallel to  (Try Henry Lawson Park or Quarantine Park)

other bays are Exile Bay at the end of Burwood Rd Concord.

Canada bay is also the water across from Massey park Golf course.

It's all the same water just given different names.

you can also try the park at the end of great north rd (to the right off Sydney Rowing Club) (Worrell Reserve)
