  1. Nice pics, looks bloody cold.
  2. http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/closures/location-closures/port-kembla By law the outer harbor is intended for navigation only, fishing is not permitted. Port Authority, Maritime, Police etc tend to turn a blind eye if your not in the way or to close to structure , but at anytime can force you to move on and/or fine you.
  3. Usually the windscreen is hinged in the center to allow access or a forward hatch in front of screen.
  4. I've ran an alloy and solas brand stainless prop, same size and pitch, on the same 90hp engine before and the only difference I noticed was the stainless was shiny and pretty looking and the alloy was dull and not so pretty. Unless your pushing your boat to its limits its doubtful you will notice big differences between alloy and stainless in the same size and pitch. IMO of course.
  5. The Dollies are there Brew, more often than not its the boat traffic that spooks them. Got afew yesterday along with three other boats, taking turns drifting near the FAD. We were all having a great session till Mr inconsiderate turned up trolling a spread within 5 meters of the FAD , after that nothing but rats. Get to the FAD early before the retards and your in with a chance. Largest dollie yesterday was on a mates boat round 90cm.
  6. Hey Big yella, were you fishing from a panga style center console with two mates?

    New boatie

Id say you would be better off at Lake Illawarra at the Berkely ramp not the Windang ramp. Minnmurra gets busy in summer and the facility's cant handle the increase in punters and Windang is very busy and other than slack tide has a humming current hammering down the channel. The ramp at Berkely is perfect for begginers, protected by a break wall, no current, protected from most winds, two lanes wide ramp, large jetty or beach it on the sand, easy parking and there isn't to many serious boaters there to get upset at the new crowd ( if there are tell em to f off anyway ). In my opinion by far the most user friendly ramp in summer round the Illawarra. https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-34.4843578,150.855244,400m/data=!3m1!1e3
  8. Ask the skipper to motor with the current whilst jigging, helps keep the jig vertical. The stripy was a decent consolation prize. They go hard on light gear. Give the Port Kembla area a go Chao, I reckon you will do well round there.
  9. Other than some engine height tuning, how's the Mclay going Stephan?
  10. I'll let my frozen bait using friends know. I've never heard of this white spot disease, thanks for the heads up Finin.
  11. I to have witnessed similar behavior and agree that it is totally unacceptable, however I also feel your racist undertone makes for an uncomfortable read. You asked for experienced fisher men/women forum members to chime in, well my advice would be to leave out your race descriptive words. I do commend you on your efforts to educate said fisher man. By your own admission your new to this activity /lifestyle, I can tell you that this sort of behavior is common and wide spread and is something you will encounter often. I encourage you to speak up just be mindful of how you recount your adventures. Tight lines mate.
  12. Im with Fab. To much weight on or near to the transom. Buy or make a tiller extension and sit way further forward, boat will probably take a lil longer to plane but will have sharper handling and will sit level . All this assuming its a planing hull and not a displacement hull.
  13. Sounds like you had a good session Dr Funk (love the user name). Were the yakkas around the break walls? Haven't seen the yakkas out wider lately, there defiantly looking for structure with the kings around.
  14. Were is this guy? Surely there's a local fabricator that can match price and quality, its only a live well should be pretty straight forward.
  15. Summer shenanigans, memories for life.

Sounds like your all over it. My mistake, I thought it was new.

    Cracked welds

Hey Fab. Had a beer with a mate tonight hes a blacksmith/boiler maker old school, hands like hammers .Mentioned your cracked weld and showed him the photo. He reckons the weld appears to have been to "hot" and said its common with the type of welder/wire diameter used for mass produced items. Reckons dont weld over existing weld, grind out and redo. Is the hull under warranty?
  18. That's good news Tara, if an insurance claim was made probably best to keep it on the low down ?.
  19. I launched there about two months ago, ramp and floating pontoon are in good order, parking is still unmarked and grass and dirt.

    Cracked welds

Have you been swinging off it Fab or has it failed prematurely? What is it a quintrex?
  21. Gday Fab. There are some monster bream and jews to be had just east of Greys beach boat ramp ,next to the Nowra bridge.Only a 5 min trip. Try the group of exposed rocks mid channel, you'll know what I mean when you see them, or the pulp outlet from the paper mill. Plenty of spots round there. Be careful in your tinny west of the bridge as the wakeboard boats wake can easily swamp a tinny your size, plus its madness west of the bridge this time of year with all the yahoos sking and boarding, used to be one of them ? and can vouch for there arrogance towards smaller boats. Have fun beautiful spot.
  22. Merry Christmas Recurve,. Where abouts were you jigging out of Port? PM me if you like ill give you a couple of marks close to Port if your interested.
