  1. The only thing I'd be worried about Fab is your wife finding out you listed her weight on the Internet.
  2. Well there you go, didn't know you get striped trumpeter up this way. Thanks for the report.
  3. Every trip gets easier Kaneo, you would be surprised just what your boat can handle in the hands of an experienced skipper. Good times ahead my friend, boating is IMO one of the most rewarding activities you can do. Theres a wealth of knowledge on this forum as Fab has demonstrated, ask and your sure to get an informative answer.
  4. You need to be careful using stainless and alloys together, ie when they come in to direct contact with each other. I believe its called galvanic corrosion. Just use alloy rivits/bolts etc.
  5. Pretty broad question, I'm not a huge fan of them myself but from what Ive seen the Bar crusher would be in front for build quality and ride comfort.Use to love the formosa but since comparing them to similar cost boats they don't deliver on ride quality or options. Wasn't that era of stessl a pressed hull, if so no comparison to a platey. Budget will dictate what boat you float away with. Are you looking for hull only or hull and engine?
  6. The Stormy PFD jacket range cant be beaten for comfort but come at a pretty penny, or the PFD belt style are a good comfort option also. Not sure if its ok to post links for a particular product so ill let you do the googling.
  7. There's a group of 5 islands off Wollongong. The three off Hill 60 have a few resident seals, on occasion they can be seen from Hill 60 rock ledge. Sightings would be hit and miss a boat would near garantee a photo opportunity.
  8. Thats great. Yes we all fish, my daughter has even started to critic my wifes techniques. Much to my amusement. She started on slimies and has worked her way up to rat kings. The rod tether has had a workout more than once. Thanks again for the info on the RHIBS.
  9. On a side note Jon, I ordered a 6.1m center console from Mclay. Should arrive Jan Feb next year, late chrissy prez for the family.
  10. All hail the rubber band, works a treat. So many uses for a rubber band on the boat. Just keep em out of bildges, they ruin pumps.?
  11. Id say the location is your main problem. From what I've read the sea grass has all but vanished in Rose Bay, hence no prawns.
  12. Spoke with the wife, trampolines a no go. Jons camera idea sounds good.
  13. Yea could be an option ? She already has a ipad. Was mine and she's kinda laid claim to it.? Thanks Donna and friends, yea ive got some bits and pieces already. Looking for the WOW present and no, im not getting a pony.? Trampoline is in the lead at this stage. (Broken arm here we come).?
  14. Gday all, only just realized the gifts I have for my 7 year old (going on 16) daughter are pretty boring.looking for something special. Fishing gear is out as she is well stocked, and I'm not a fan of makeup and jewellery at this age. Any ideas? What has lit up your kids face in the past?
  15. Thanks for the report Neil, that sunset pic is magic.
  16. You better buy a new car trailer and boat, just to be on the safe side . Atleast thats what you tell the missus.?
  17. Make sure you use blind rivits. Personally I think all boats with a covered bildge should have a float switch on bildge pump. There cheap insurance and easy to install, look into it.

If your ball and cup fitting is "clanning" Fab , probably needs the tolerance adjusted. The uni style hitches are great for sharp pitch and yaw situations but total overkill for general towing. If you need/want one look at the urethane knuckle types.
  19. Be sun smart, its going to be HOT ?
  20. Lol, what's with the snobby fish round your stomping ground Scratchie?
  21. So easy to burn an hour or two on rats and light gear. Super fun. Great for kids when there on.
